Sometimes you're in a timeless mood, when you just want a great chuggy underground groove that doesn't end. This mix is for such a mood. No big drops, no songs, no epic synths...just the rhythm and some rhythmic sprinkles. Cannot wait to play a set like this soon for you in my own Brooklyn. If you have been at the Junkyard stage this shouldn't need any description but if you haven't I will try to explain it a little bit. 

Every year I have been so lucky to be able to play with friends and have a good time playing music, at what I consider, my home festival. We have been doing the Junkyard stage formerly known as Favela for a while and it has always been a labor of love that has brought tears of happiness, one way or another, every single time. 

This last year I got to play with 2 of my favorite friends/artists Marques Wyatt, and Monolink. We closed Saturday night from 1 AM to 4 AM and here is the testament of what transpired musically that night!  We had so much fun!  I hope you enjoy it!

Finally got my recording back from LIB and I'm immediately transported back to the rollercoaster of emotions I experienced that weekend. 

Between the heat, dust and being around tens of thousands of people after going through a pandemic, it's safe to say I was a little rusty at festivaling. On top of it, my legs felt like floppy noodles from how anxious I was to play the prime set time Friday night at the Junkyard. This is something I experience often before gigs, the sweats, self deprecating internal thoughts, imposter syndrome. I questioned if I belonged here or if I earned it. Then I mixed in and immediately felt at home. I thought to myself "Bitch you know what you're doing" and went on to play one of those "highlights of my career" sets for me personally. 

The rest of the night and weekend was a breeze, and the magic of LIB was amplified. I was able to see the thousands of smiling faces in front of me, the above and beyond details The Do Lab had added and updated, and realized this was so many people's first festival back and they could not be happier about it. I could not be happier about it. 

I hope that you enjoy it and that you're happy too.

Simon Shackleton B2B The Scumfrog Live from Double Down at Mighty SF 3/28/15.

We'd been waiting for this one since NYE when an impromptu tag set happened between these two and we knew it was fate at it's finest hour.  We got the boys together and the result was incredible, a 4 hour B2B set with The Scumfrog also providing some live drums to compliment the set had Mighty in a frenzy of dance.  We are certainly looking forward to doing this again!

This was my first trip to the Joshua Tree Music Festival.  It definitely lived up to and exceeded any expectations I may have had.  The beautiful community of music enthusiasts it attracted was second to none.  They came with me wherever I went musically.  There's nothing like being physically present, but I'm trusting some of the magic from that beautiful evening under stars will translate via this recording into something that will leave your soul smiling. We are excited to present release number 5 from Tropical Oasis Retreat Maui - Sunshine Jones'  100% Live set on Saturday night!

Sunshine's inspirational messages and brilliant music were the perfect way to close out our first day and night of amplified music.

In addition to this live set Sunshine also played a dj set, hosted a small music seminar - mahalo for being such an integral part of ur event!  

Sunshine Jones is often called a "house legend" from San Francisco. A founding member of Dubtribe Sound System. He also makes electronic music by himself. He travels the world performing a live/DJ set - live mixing, singing, re editing on the fly, and championing the idea that literally anything you can syncopate is house music. He re edits for leisure, experiments with electronics for adventure, is often in an airplane, and is very kind to children.
