Having galloped onto our dancefloors back in 2020 with his sure-shot ‘Lone Ranger’ EP, then followed up by ‘Meltin’’ our minds with his pure, high grade funk in ’21…. Renato Cohen returns to Pets Recordings with a fresh, high octane offering for the summer in his ’Benzine’ EP. 
The title track ignites the EP with its seismic bass and oscillating acid line. As the temperature rises, simmering nicely, Renato adds a hefty splash of cosmic seasoning and another twist of acid on ‘Frito’. 
Sufficiently toasted, we inhale the final Benzine fumes and embark on an hallucinogenic trip through cascading keys and echoing drums on closing track, ‘Wake Up’. 
More fuel to his musical fire, the Benzine EP completes a hot and spicy trio of Pets releases from the Brazilian maestro.

Following the fevered reception of their 2018 single “HAL,” the union between main stage lovemaker Kölsch and techno iceman Tiga has returned with “Hand in Hand,” a rapturous exercise in sacral catharsis that many are calling the ultimate set closer. 

Emboldened to use his natural speaking voice for the first time on the title track, Tiga is eager to open up about this sentimental departure from his usual fare: “When it comes down to it, I’m an emotional frogman, When I hear a beating heart, I dive right in heart-first.”

Meanwhile, B-side “Almost Everything” takes the vibe into Kölsch’s signature indescribable euphoric heights. So indescribable in fact that we had to ask BO, Turbo’s proprietary AI and Metadata Scraper, to analyze the track based on tempo, emotional valence, and “fun factor”. His conclusion: “Total banger.” Thanks, BO!

Reflecting on just what he’s achieved here with his Danish friend Kölsch, Tiga is characteristically thoughtful: “Would you rather have a gun in your hand, or a hand in your hand? If you even have to think about the answer, you need to open your heart ASAFP because nothing less than the future of love and music hangs in the balance. It’s entirely up to you."

Ellum Audio serves up a selection of dance floor weapons on a bumper new sampler handpicked by label head Maceo Plex. 

Italian Laherte trained at Studio 76 Music and has since built on that early promise with tunes on top labels. He opens up with 'My Mind', a driving techno cut with slapping hits and filtered alien sounds bringing the menace. Ellum Audio artist Waltervelt then keeps it dark and cosmic with the skewed synth energy and prickly beats of his eerie 'Back Room'.

Argentina's David Bau has made big moves in the underground with this potent take on techno. Here he offers up 'Deconstruct', a tense and turbulent stomper with flashy synth designs and intense, grinding bass. French mainstay Madben follows up his excellent recent album with 'The Drone Dance', another standout track with strobe-lit synth lasers firing over the face of an ice-cold rhythm. 

Part 2 opens with Ibiza-based producer and DJ John Monkman, the founder of Beesemyer Music and a familiar face on this label. He impresses again with 'Talking Heads', another sublime mix of futuristic synth designs carefully layered up over compelling, steel-edged drums. 8-Bit Culprit is the house and techno alter ego of Faraz Ehsan from India. His 'Refurbished Robots' is an electrifying peak time cut that takes you to the heart of a dance floor in outer space, with nebulous pads and squealing cosmic sounds all wrapping around the urgent grooves. 

Next up is the collaborative Headwaters duo from Turkey. They draw on their mix of electronic sounds and instrumental skills on 'Eternal Madness', a slick tech track that locks you into crisp loops then mesmerises with the glowing synth harmonies which shine brightly up top. Danish DJ and producer Christian Nielsen is back on the label to round out this collection with 'Liberate,' a dark dance floor punisher with neck-snapping snares and ghoulish voices over a slithering and hypotonic beat. This has already been receiving plays from Maceo Plex at the likes of Timewarp, Brunch Madrid and the Ushuaia opening and is set to be a summer highlight. 

This is another high-class voyage to the edges of the techno galaxy courtesy of Ellum.

We welcome Brazilian Waltervelt back front and centre stage with his new stand-alone single "Mutation Rotation" which follows last years debut for us "Reborn Galactica"

Waltervelt brings his peak time dancefloor prowess which has seen favour with some the worlds top spinners, he has always been connected to art from a young age collecting cassette tapes and CDs since expressing his a love for Electronic Music which grew from listening to contemporary techno down to revolutionary artists such as Kraftwerk. A lot of effort was then put into his craft and it all came together in 2016 when James Rodrigo De Souza gave birth to his production alter-ego Waltervelt. His productions have been featured in the sets of some of the worlds finest players including Maceo Plex who was instrumental in bringing his sound to a wider audience through his Ellum Audio imprint and Solomun who in late 2021 brought him onboard his Diynamic label with the track "Violent Location" a collaboration with Kiko.

Maceo Plex & AVNU have teamed up for 'Clickbait (This Ain't Hollywood)', the standout new single from Maceo Plex’s forthcoming album. 

Maceo Plex continues to be one of electronic music's most recognisable names. He has fomented his own uniquely interplanetary take on forward-thinking, melodic techno and deep house whilst being the driving force behind Lone Romantic and Ellum Audio. As a DJ, he continues to headline the world’s leading festivals and clubs year in, year out. AVNU is one of Maceo Plex’s most hotly-tipped new acts of recent years, based on the East Coast of Scotland. The topical lyrics aim to highlight the disparities between social media influencer lifestyles and the realities of everyday life in mainstream Hollywood and modern-day society in general.

'Clickbait (This Ain’t Hollywood)' with AVNU is a red hot new single from Maceo Plex’s forthcoming album, now remixed by Life And Death label head honcho DJ Tennis.

That single offered a real taste of what to expect from Maceo's upcoming album, and now the sizzling summer sound gets flipped into a deeper, darker groove by DJ Tennis. The Italian has proven himself adept on many fronts, from A&Ring for his much-loved label to laying down subversive sets at the world's best parties via cooking up a diverse array of productions that range from deep and melodic to more disco-tinged and brightly coloured.

With this excellent new remix, he heads off to the farthest edges of the galaxy. The drums and bass are heavily textured as they rumble beneath the melancholic talk box vocals. Synths shoot off in all directions, and there is a retro-future feel to the arps as bright cosmic melodic rain falls down the face of the journeying cut.
