FP003 - A continuous Stream of Sonics Running in Your Area

`Running In Your Area` is the third Faux Poly release of 2022 from label bosses Kassian. The release solidifies the mood of the label and moves Kassian closer towards a heavier techno sound, just in time for their Berlin debut at Panorama Bar and HÖR this summer. All three tracks feature the instantly recognisable voice of Theo Parrish, lifted from his infamous Eargoggles show on NTS.

`The Machine` builds on pads and acid elements synonymous with Detroit techno and introduces a strong UK Dubstep influence. This festival leaning electronica track remains restricted and confident, creating a sense of power and presence.

`Off World Vehicles` is simple and surprisingly explosive, a weighty statement techno track suited for bigger rooms, featuring a slow churning acid line and cavernous vocal loop.

Finally, `Actions` is a solid rolling techno club tool which manages to be both reliable and unstructured at the same time, with a looped out vocal and talkbox style acid line.

'Seb Wildblood kicks off the year with his ‘vitara 3000’ EP, a dispatch loaded with three atmospheric cuts which seamlessly dive between sounds of nostalgia, broken beat, and euphoric melodies. The three-tracker via Istanbul-based Oath is his first release since dropping his warmly-received sophomore LP ‘do you feel it too?’ on all my thoughts.

‘This EP was born out of having the first solid space to be creative in since moving to LA from London. There’s a call and response element to the record via vitara 3000, which refers back to my last album ‘do you feel it too?’ that came out in May via the vocal sample. I see my catalog/discography in phases, and for me, this EP reflects the final few chapters of the sound and energy I’ve been exploring over the last 18 months or so.’ – Seb Wildblood.

‘floor science’ is the first to drop listeners into Seb’s kaleidoscopic soundscape, indulging ears with a scintillating, high-energy cut that’s inspired by tech house of the noughties. The title track ‘vitara 3000’ trips into a blissful place, where the question posed by Seb’s second LP is answered in the euphoric flight of the vocal, literally calling out, “I can feel!” New studio space and a grab for new studio gear gave creative steam to ‘re-location.zip’, a track that radiates with new beginnings from the elevating chords to the skittering synths and soaring vocals.'

Progressive breaks guru begins the remix with his signature sound with well programmed and tight drums. Building the track with new hypnotic elements and retaining some of the original parts. Nice deep emotional breakdown that creates lovely atmospherics with floaty synths and haunting organ chords. Very cool production that will have you listening right to the end, while lifting your spirit and keeping you engaged on this electronic journey.

The fourth instalment of Moxie’s compilation series is back, presenting 8 exclusive new tracks from a thoughtfully curated line-up of artists. Featuring friends of On Loop, up-and-coming producers and prominent names alike, Moxie Presents Volume Four is due for release as a limited run on vinyl alongside a digital download.
First up is US producer Byron The Aquarius’ dreamy, laid-back opener ‘Truth Is What U See (Dreams)’, followed by Nathan Micay’s infectious builder ‘Basic Plumbing’. Lady Blacktronika then switches things up with energetic cut ’4 The Pain’, before Lisbon based artist Violet lays down her signature breakbeat sound on ‘Antifa Beats’. Next up is Steve Spacek, who’s soulful ‘Gimmi Da Love’ provides blissful vibes and a sunny vocal hook.

Dublin-born duo Long Island Sound (Rob Roche and Tim Nolan) are known for their euphoric-yet-introspective take on electronic music. Toeing the fine line between emotion and energy, the pair present dynamic and dreamy explorations via their own imprint, Signs of Space. 2022 saw the release of their first full-length, Lost Connection, which Resident Advisor described as ‘glorious, heart-tugging sunset techno’. Following the success of their debut LP and a sold-out launch party in Dublin’s own Tengu, the pair embarked on their Summer festival tour, culminating in a standout set at Ireland’s All Together Now.

2023 kicked off with the release of Lost Connection Remixes, a heavyweight remix package featuring remarkable reinterpretations of Long Island Sound’s debut album by Mor Elian, Benjamin Damage, James Shinra and Cromby. This summer the duo moved swiftly on with their highly anticipated ‘Don’t Let Me/Air’ EP; a pair of unadulterated festival-ready house epics that have seen support from the likes of Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1, Tim Swenney on Beats in Space and Jenny Greene on RTÉ 2FM.
