A tune composed in 2002/3 in collaboration with a friend from New York (GraphixKid) in memory of my daughter, Heather, who didn't join us from the womb.

Heather suffered from a congenital heart disease, called LHS (Left Heart Syndrome). In short, this meant that the left side of her heart didn't develop - at all. Had she been born, she would have been whisked straight into surgery for a heart transplant; followed by others at 3 months, three years and, finally, in her early Teens, one last transplant with a heart that would, hopefully, have lasted her adult life.

Thankfully, she passed away, without trauma, never knowing the fear that we, her parents, knew lay ahead for her - leaving a hole in my own heart forever.

Inspired by the "Chaos is a ladder" speech towards the end of episode six, season three of the hit TV show, Game of Thrones. I've taken the basic theme and worked it up into a contemporary dance anthem.

Thought to be lost forever, I stumbled across the DAW software (published by Emission) that I had a hand in developing and for which this was an official 'demo' for - and there, lo and behold, was the source-file - from which I salvaged this! (woot!)

Project One

The title takes its name from the root of words relating to all things 'visual'.

The finishing of this track was inspired by and features the voices of Integral Math / Justicar and RedlineV8, both from YouTube, discussing the issues surrounding a spate of flagging 'wars' on the website. Thanks go out to both of them. Redline for his specific permission and Justicar for placing his video under a Creative Commons licence.

This is also released under Creative Commons - both to encourage remixes and in respect for the original audio's CC status. Further, it demonstrates many of the very points being made in respect of "derivative works" - despite this being an 'original work' musically.
