Here is our track for the "Zoolook revisited album contest" by Soundhunters and Jean-Michel Jarre.

In italian language, the word "giocare" means "to play" (with games), "sognare" means "to dream".
The engine sound you can hear at the beginning of the track comes from a VolksWagen Beetle.
The sound of the train at the end of the track comes from an old Fiat ALn 668 running on the Valsugana Railway in Italy (from Trento to Venice).
The soundhunters-sample used is: "nature and water - 4730"
This track was produced with both hardware and software synthesizers.
You can also hear a lot of sounds from the history of technology (e.g morse-code, disk-drives, modem, radio, dot printers,speak&spell).

Giocare-Sognare (Zoolook revisited album contest)

Pripyat was a city in the former Soviet Union and home to fifty thousand people when it was abandoned in April 1986. The explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power station spread deadly radiation across the region, making Pripyat uninhabitable.

In the decades since the disaster the buildings and infrastructure of Pripyat quietly decay and wildlife flourishes as nature reclaims the Chernobyl nuclear exclusion zone.

This audio sketch of Pripyat makes heavy use of the Steiner-Parker filter at or near resonance to convey the instability and danger of the hot zone.
