At some point, the music came. Inadvertently. A noise, followed by another, followed by another. Resulting in a melody, or a rhythm. Gathering everyone around, suddenly drawn by this weird lullaby, asking the neo-instrumentalists to repeat the enthralling loop, endlessly.
Then, the discovery spontaneously spread across frontiers, across ages. Up to this day, laden down with all the knowledges and influences collected along the road.
Stéréogramme, the newest Parisian label, dedicates its initial imprint to this journey. To the strange and captivating music filled with ancient sounds and atmospheres, yet produced today. As a manifesto of the coming explorations to be released: library, leftfield electronics, freak folk, minimal synth, fourth-world…

A 50-minute cassette compilation to highlight ten worldwide producers, providing two distinct listening experiences. A joyous first part, featuring playful and extravagant contributions from Hipólito, Lyckle De Jong, Charlotte Leclerc, Manoir Molle and Romain de Ferron. Making way for a darker second act, tinged with psychedelic and mental abstractions from Steve Pepe, Chorus Abstracta, Raymonde, Inturist and Bear Bones, Lay Low.

Designed by the infamous Structure Bâtons - as another bond with minimalist and naïve art -, a hundred tapes for just as many cover combinations, thanks to various artworks and stickers.

"Stéréogramme returns with the second opus of his “Interactive Pictures” series. Walking the same road as last year, paved with new age, freak folk and leftfield synths, the Paris-based label also ventures to new paths like minimalism, no wave and vocal experimentations. Once again divided in two musical panoramas, this 11-track tape will definitely bring back your happy childhood memories to the surface. First, take a nap with the soothing lullabies of Héron Cendré, Peter Graf York, Les Echos Primitifs, Lamina & Bravo Tounky, only to be interrupted by Ronan Riou’s feverish contribution. Then, hear the spooky, harebrained stories of Aymeric de Tapol, Leoni Leoni, Houschyar, Geier aus Stahl, Zad Kokar and Firmaet Forvoksen. In short, another marvelous line-up gathered by head-honcho Rako, who made its specialty of unearthing spontaneous yet skillful compositions.

elijah jamal asani would like to extend an invitation to slow down. To linger a little longer. To follow the wind’s lulling whisper, and let your gaze discern where the land meets the clouded horizon. 

Documenting time spent in the Grand Canyon as an artist in residence, asani collected sounds (“the melody that the bottom layer of the canyon walls and the river played for each other”) from the environment with reverence, to place nature at the forefront of his celestial musings. 

The finished work for asani is "an audio journal comprised of the sounds & sentiments captured on that fortyfourth night inside of the canyon; An echo of the softness etched upon those muav stones; an aide-memoire on the long-lost creation story between the river, the desert floor, & all the elements in between that remain intertwined for as long as they decide, forming what we call the grand canyon.” 

Blending intuition with intention in a delicately woven collage of guitar, field recordings, percussion, piano, and zither, ,,, as long as i long to memorise your sky ,,, is a vivid stroke of abstract romanticism patiently wandering through ethereal ambient compositions. It’s an engaging use of space devoid of linear time, fluid and flowing, with ripples of honeyed instrumentals and new age invocations. Keys buoyed by long tails of delay, awash in a sepia tinged nostalgia, everything passed through an otherworldly texture.

Written, recorded, and mixed by elijah jamal asani, ,,, as long as i long to memorise your sky ,,, features Aaron White on Native American flute (track 6) and was mastered by Andrew Weathers. The record shimmers with the spiritual vibrancy of Marion Brown’s collaborative work, heightens perceptions of the surrounding space like Hiroshi Yoshimura’s kankyō ongaku music, and has the loose yet deliberately comforting feeling of hearing Carlos Niño commune with friends.

Contemplative, meditative, cast in delicate hues, ,,, as long as i long to memorise your sky ,,, is a brilliantly fading memory.

KV Hopper is a Portland-based visual artist and musician whose work bridges experimental sound, design, and collaborative performance. Born and raised in El Paso, Texas, he discovered music early through his mother’s collection of 1960s American soul and classic Middle Eastern records. That blend of cultures—and hours spent exploring the family’s Wurlitzer piano—set the foundation for his lifelong relationship with sound.
As a teenager, Hopper became a founding member of At the Drive-In, contributing bass and songwriting to the band’s first two releases and touring extensively throughout the Southwest. He later moved to San Francisco, studying industrial design and music technology at California College of the Arts (CCA), where his projects spanned from experimental music apps to handcrafted electronic instruments built with recycled plastics.
His performance history includes a 2007 collaboration with British artist Anthony McCall at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) for the interactive light installation You and I, Horizontal III. Hopper’s current project, Long Twins, continues his focus on interdisciplinary collaboration—most recently on the 2023 album Everyone in Water, created with lyricist/vocalist Elizabeth LoPiccolo and choreographers Lili Macatangay and Katerina Vitiaz.
Hopper’s latest album, Taped Baskets was created in collaboration with Croatian vocalist, Doris Banovic accompanied by modern dance video performances by London based artist, Bun Kobayashi. Taped Baskets is set to be released on Northern Geographic in 2026.
