Faro is a Brighton based artist who has played all across the UK and beyond since 2014. She holds down residencies at Patterns night club and leading underground radio station Balamii, as well as her local station 1BTN. Faro is known for being a selector, digging deep for the best soulful records to play on her radio shows and gigs. A true music lover.

She has shared line ups with huge headliners, a few being Honey Dijon, Folamour, Dan Shake, Dimitri From Paris, Jeremy Underground, Alexander Nut, Cody Currie, Moxie, Cinthie and last year supported Annie Mac on her Brighton tour date. 

Her vibrant energy and uplifting music has graced many dance floors and venues across the world, notably Suncebeat Festival (Croatia), Kala Festival (Albania), We Out Here Festival (UK), Pikes (Ibiza), Motion (Bristol), XOYO (London) and not to mention taking over from Jayda G and closing Detonate Festival (Nottingham).

Faro grew up on her Dad’s collection of R&B and Soul, which heavily influences her selections today ranging from House, Broken Beat, Disco, Jazz, Garage and beyond. 

As well as DJing, Faro has spent time over the years putting on events and is currently starting regular parties with LEV at the renowned BBE Store in East London. She also works with To The Rock Records, one of the most refreshing soulful labels on the scene right now.

In her early days, Faro produced a track that was played on BBC Introducing - since then she has prioritised DJing but is now spending time in the studio working on production and vocals, with an EP set to come out spring 2025 with fellow artist Pandar.

Dias has had his music released on some of house music’s leading labels; Armada Deep,
Defected, D-Vine Sounds, Dungeon Meat, Simma Black, Peppermint Jam, No Fuss Records,
Nervous Records, Chicago’s Large Music & more - and he’s more in demand as a remixer and
producer than ever before with his Dungeon Meat EP selling out twice and hitting the top spot
in Juno’s bestseller lists. After a 2023 full of personal upheaval it would be fair to say that he’s
now fully found his groove again, serving up several cuts on wax for the ‘Ikigai EP’, and
featuring on SPIL Records’ first VA alongside Jeremy Sylvester and Zed Bias. He’s also
delivered stellar remixes for PIV Records and legendary NY house label Sub-Urban, both of
which will be released in the second half of 2024.

In recent years he’s placed a strong focus on becoming an educator, championing the art of
sampling and club culture through his sample label NITELIFE Audio, and being an advocate
for aspiring producers by providing feedback and support and sharing his knowledge and
journey. From a press perspective, he's an interviewer's dream - always warm, thoughtful and
honest, and able to talk freely about all aspects of the music business. He appears frequently
on panels during Brighton Music Conference about a range of topics including NFT’s and
Web3, the art of collaboration and much more.

Scene Selectors 001 - Scott Shand

Our guests this week should need no introduction to regular RhythmCast listeners. To those less-familiar, If there is one word to define them, it is 'House', a style to which they have remained faithful in spite of changing trends and fashions.

As well as being residents in the most respected venues in Mallorca, they have played music in the majority of clubs and beach clubs on the island, as well as different cities and countries internationally.

Playing together since 2011, Alex and Sote have been the musical heads of the Pacha brand in
Mallorca for more than 6 years and are currently resident DJ's at Social Club
Mallorca.

In 2017 they founded Esuoh, an independent label based on the main principals of
house music, based in Mallorca. In a very short time, the label has gained a great
reputation in the scene and is regularly supported by great artists around the world.
As producers they have released on labels such as Quantize Recordings and D-vine
Sounds, among others, and obviously on Esuoh, with licenses on labels such as
Defected. For 2025, they already have releases confirmed on labels such as
Robsoul Recordings, Mood Child, Esuoh and Stuck In Time (sub-label of The
Basement Discos) among others. Watch this space for more great house music.

October 31 2025, Västkransen Records releases its 10th record — a milestone double 12" vinyl compilation featuring eight tracks from some of Stockholm’s finest dance music producers, DJs and club heads. A celebration of the city’s underground electronic music scene, Västkransen 10 brings together familiar names from the label’s past as well as DJs making their record debut. What they all share is a vital role in the sound and spirit of Stockholm’s dancefloors today.
 
Launched in 2017, Västkransen Records grew out of Gården – a seasonal open-air party held beneath a highway on the border between the neighborhoods of Västberga and Midsommarkransen. Set in a place where industrial landscapes meet nature, this location has shaped both the party’s unique atmosphere and its blend of funk grooves, disco sounds and rawer house beats. Starting a label was a way to keep that energy going and showcase artists and selectors with few outlets in a city often drawn to darker and harder strains of dance music.

We welcome the mighty @justsayfouk to the podcast for episode 30. 

@danielleseman & @junktionmusic (Hans Peeman)are two successful producers on their own merits and have been friends since childhood so a collaboration between the two was inevitable. The success of it of course never is, but their house sound infused with disco and a lot funk has been proven to be very infectious.

After the infamous Detroit Swindle signed them to their Heist imprint and released the booming Kill Frenzy EP their name was established firmly to quick growing broader audience. Resulting in request for Dj-sets across Europe & the America’s, with personals highlights on Glastonbury, LoveBox and Output New York.

Their first vinyl release as Fouk, on their own created Outplay Records was met with great enthusiasm, the brilliant reactions to ‘Stuff Your Dad Liked’ and ‘Cat Lady’ propelled Fouk and Outplay firmly into the scene as the ‘one to watch’. Following swiftly on, they produced a formidable remix for Lay-Far on the Swedish Local Talk Records. Since then they’ve released EP’s on Room With A View, The House of Disco and Razor-n-Tape and made a string of strong remixes for the likes of Kraak & Smaak, Groove Armada, Joey Negro’s The Sunburst Band and Mayer Hawthorne.

@blackloops has built himself a solid reputation as one of House music’s most creative and progressive producers. Recognizing his momentum and high-quality releases.

His influences stem from genres such as funk, soul, and disco, while his style is similar to the sound of the 90’s UK House movement and early 00's NY House.

Lea Lisa is a regular figure within the European electronic music scene for over 20 years, she began her career in 1996, taking influence from the sounds coming out of Chicago, Detroit and New York.

Over the past two decades, Lea has made it while choosing to stay out of the limelight, at all times refusing to give in to trends. Recognized for her sharp and uncompromising DJ performances, Music magazines Trax and Rolling Stone have referred to her as a DJ whom is conquering European dance floors.

Deep house music producers Kerri Chandler and Jovonn have also sung her praises, applauding her innate ability to captivate a dance floor.

She's played at some of the best international clubs around the world, including in major venues in Berlin, Paris, London, Copenhagen, China, Russia and the US. She has also featured on the program of festivals including the Nuits Sonores, Polaris Festival, People in the city Festival, Solaris, Southern Soul Festival, Sunslice and Contre-Temps to name a few.
