This album is the result of a challenge to myself. My last album was inspired by the intricate, propulsive, sequencer led electronics of Tangerine Dream or Steve Hauschildt - very fun to make, setting sequences and letting them stretch on. For this album I intended to use less tidy or 'predictable' elements. While there are automated sequences of course, I incorporated field recordings and home made loops of varying lengths with no set tempo. 

The result is an album that aims to feel more natural, or human. Each song containing parts from nature - recordings of my garden, or streams I walked past - or improvised melodies lpayed live that required my presence and focus.

The sounds are made from analog and digital synthesizers, guitar, drum machine and kalimba as well as various effects.
Field recordings were taken in my garden in Greater Manchester as well as on walks in the Lake District and by the sea in St Ives.
