The first piano piece I ever composed. Driven by lovesickness in summer 2007 in my hometown Wolfsburg (Germany).

Summer Rain

Nostalgia is a solo piano song inspired by minimal pianists like Ludovico Einaudi, Yiruma and Yann Tiersen. The track tells aboout the melancholic looking back on past experiences, situations and atmospheres.

Just like in 'Endoplasmic Underground' we used a lot of adhesive tape recordings to enhance the kick and make percussion. The melody hook is a layer of NI's Razor and a tweaked preset of NI's Kinetic Metal in Kontakt, a found sound based sample library. Somehow we got them in tune. =)

Cytoplasm is the fluid 'atmosphere' of the entire cell. It is essentially just salty water, the one drop of the ocean, that each and every living cell brought with it, on it's journey. Whereever that might be - still under water, on land, or high up in the sky.

These words, written nearly 2000 years ago in Ancient Greek 🏛️, were found on a tombstone in Tralleis.
They encourage us to recognize our own talents 🌟 and bring them into the world. 🌍
We should not focus too long on grief but make the best of the precious time ⏳ we are given. 💖

Because, as it continues:
To telos ho chronos apaitei – Time brings the end on its own!

Sie ermutigen dazu, die eigenen Talente 🌟 zu erkennen und diese in die Welt 🌍 zu tragen.
Wir sollen den Fokus nicht zu lang auf die Trauer legen, sondern die kostbare Zeit ⏳, die uns gegeben ist, bestmöglich nutzen. 💖

Re-embracing hope in present and past science fiction.

 A heavy dub of Nachtmusik. Admittedly the name 'New Nubia Space Station' is a bit too conceptually obvious and pretentious, but it kind of stuck. Working title was 'ambient step dub', next idea was 'Octavia Butler', name of the sci-fi novel author Octavia Butler, which in turn almost noone would understand who or what it refers to. (she is often named as the inventor of afrofuturism). 

The new name is inspired by two contemperary novels by Omar Epps & Clarence A. Haynes. 'Nubia - The Reckoning' and the follow up 'Nubia - The Awakening'. Definitely more down to earth than the 'Black Panther' franchise. Dystopic, yet entertaining and hopeful.
