Hey guys, how are you? Anything to tell our readers about this podcast before they hit play?
We're good! This podcast is a good overview of the more up tempo stuff we're doing right now. Everything is in it: from the more housy melodic piano summery vibes to melodramatic and deep more techie tunes and melodies. Old released material, new unreleased material and a little bonus. Even some breaks and speedgarage make their way in to the set at the beginning. The new remix for Marten Fischer (90Watts) is in it, so that's a 'première' (coming end of november). Another 'première' is a track we're producing with Unders: Lazynoise. We also mixed two nice mashups with the 5th&6th and the last two tracks 'The End' & 'Smelly Feet'. Enjoy!

We were a bit short on the beginning of Loops in our intro, could you tell us some more about how Loops was formed and what happened right after starting?
Well, we didn't know each other but apparently we went on a holiday when we were at the age of 2 and 3.

Then, 16 years later it was just one phonecall to Sebastiaan. I (Boris) needed someone to play live at one of my DJ-sets. My dad told me Sebas could play the piano. Then the whole DJ-set idea faded and we just made music for two weeks in my chamber in Amersfoort. After those two weeks we had one hour of drum/piano/efx/bass-loops on a laptop and Sebastiaan jamming live on a keyboard. Loops was 'born'. Once started we ended up producing 24/7. This lead to being scouted for Outland records and WAE (Squz then) after which things really got started. That's about 4 years ago now…

Any cool news, previews or gossip we have not covered yet?
Well our new remix for 90Watts is coming soon. And we'll head of to Germany again the 26th if november. Really happy to play @ Sophies Ball on new year's eve in Utrecht and a special January first surprise in Amsterdam. We've also got a nice new release planned but can't say a lot about that yet! ;)

Boris and Sebastiaan had met before, but they hadn’t seen each other for about 14 years. It was the Minimaal Kabaal gig in their hometown Amersfoort that brought them together once again. After a few gigs and a whole lot of productions they were scouted for the legendary Outland label from Amsterdam (Tuner EP, jan. 2009). After their second release (Dinsdagmiddag, Wolfskuil ltd, july 2009) their 3rd release was released in may 2010 (Esther Moose EP, Neovinyl, may 2010). Their records are widely supported by a broad range of artists, such as Karotte, Len Faki, Joris Voorn, X-press 2, Laurent Garnier, Michel de Hey, Slam and many more!
Even though Loops had just been around for 3 years now, stage fright is no longer a problem for them. Time Warp NL, Mr. Stubnitz, Cocoon goes Amsterdam, Mysteryland and Studio 80 have gotten acquainted with the energetic sound of these guys. They have started to build a name fore themselves abroad as well.
Besides the Make Up Club in Gent (Belgium) these two guys have taken the stage in several German clubs already, kampongs which the world famous Harry Klein Club!! This duo, which made it to the finals of the Grand Prize of The Netherlands (DJ/Dance Producer), searches for the balance between musicality and groove.
Loops’ dynamic and danceable live sets create a delirious public every single time. With two minds full of inspiration and enthusiasm flowing through their veins, it’s onwards to the Loops – 4 YRS anniversary!
Driven by the ‘momentum’ of their youth, Loops is one of those acts were you can almost taste the talent when they play their live act. With an idealistic point of view on modern-day music, but with a solid musical background, these two monsters impress every promoter and spectator. They’re fighting themselves to the top of the dance-scene: taking event by event, crowd by crowd.
