The twelfth instalment of the Reference Mark Mix Series. Past, present and future friends of the label are given the chance to reference the sounds that define them.

After all the stresses of lockdown this year we all need a break; and when I say break, I mean a breakbeat. There is no one more equipped to supply this than Oak Watson. As co-founder of the fledgling Leeds based party Electric Boogaloo, he has hosted some of the scenes most legendary acts at one of the most iconic venues in the UK: Frazer Ray and Overmono at Wire. No doubt those acts and others witnessed pre-lockdown influenced the sounds presented in this mix. Peak time breaks are the mainstay, with some darker off-kilter techno reflecting on the ghosts of raves past and looking forward to the ghosts of raves future.
