On our new guest mix we are very proud to host...Misstress Barbara (born Barbara Bonfiglio in Sicily, Italy) is an
internationally renowned electronic artist who has performed at some of the world’s top clubs and worked alongside music heavyweights such as Bjork, The Prodigy, Tiesto, Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin and John Digweed just to name a few.
Her DJing and production have earned her accolades and awards,
including receiving the highest prize at the 2001 MIMI Awards (Montreal International Music Initiative), “Best Breakthrough Underground DJ” at the UK Underground Music Awards, a “Best Dance Album Of The Year” nomination at the 2010 JUNO Awards (I’m No Human/ Maple Music Recordings), a "Best Show in foreign language" nomination at 2013 ADISQ for the live show of her recent album"Many Shades of Grey" (Maple Music Recordings) and the award of "Best Montreal DJ" at the 2014 MTL Awards.
She is one of the most sought after artists in electronic music with a massively successful career that spans over 18 years with releases on labels such as John Digweed’s Bedrock Records, James Holden’s Border Community and Carl Cox’s Intec Records. Misstress Barbara is a true pioneer. With her extensive discography and her busy DJ schedule she could have easily rest on her laurels, but instead, in 2009, she embarked on
a whole new adventure with the release of "I’m No Human", her debut artist album, one that features collaborations from Brazilian Girls, Bjorn Yttling of Peter Bjorn and John, and fellow Canadian artist Sam Roberts.
The album also finds her singing for the first time, and with her
intoxicating space age femme fatale sound, it’s a happy development that was born out of unhappy circumstances, following the passing away of her father on Christmas Eve in 2006. In 2012, Misstress Barbara released "Many Shades of Grey", her second artist album as a singer-songwriter,
shortly before she felt the need to get back in the studio to make more of her beloved techno again. As a producer, Misstress Barbara is often approached to make music for television advertisement and movies. Her ever growing popularity recently
brought her to do a collaboration with Porsche, who recently filmed her to be the face of the promotional video of their brand new vehicle, the Macan, and where her own music is highlighted throughout the video. With various techno releases coming up this year, while she keeps up with her various projects and her favorite DJ gigs in her favorite clubs and festivals, the future looks brighter than ever.

Premiere: Arts Of Techno - No Type [Achalay Records]

Say What? is happy to welcome the new collaborative EP from Spanish/Chilean techno craftsmen Under The FX and JFERNANDEZ. Fusing precision-engineered grooves with emotional depth, the duo dives into the disorienting and fascinating world of time perception through hypnotic, rolling techno.

Opening the EP with elegant chaos, 'Desfase Circular' plays with looping sequences and subtly shifting percussion that evolve in a spiralling motion. Syncopated low-end patterns pull the listener in while atmospheric elements swell and retract like tidal waves of tension. It’s a circular rhythm that never quite returns to the same place.

A mechanical heart beats off-kilter in 'Pulso Desviado'. Clock-like clicks, rolling sub-bass, and warped synth stabs generate a hypnotic drive that feels both relentless and unstable. The groove continuously deviates from expected patterns, creating a sense of temporal distortion—like a second hand skipping beats in a dream..

The third track on the release 'Reloj Interno' explores the body’s own rhythm. Here, organic percussion interlocks with warm, rolling bass and subtle modular tones. The groove feels intimate and alive—almost biological. Pulses echo like a heartbeat, gradually layered with evolving synth textures that mirror the shifts of day and night. It’s a track that breathes, grounded in groove but aimed toward inner exploration.

Closing the EP on a deeper, more meditative note, 'Tiempo Suspendido' suspends time itself. Space opens up between the kick and the rhythmic elements, allowing haunting pads and ghostly effects to drift in like forgotten memories. The track moves slowly yet purposefully, capturing that strange sensation when moments feel stretched—when time no longer feels like a straight line. Perfect for closing sets or introspective home listening.

Italian label Loose Records was established by Mario Manganelli and Rino Cerrone (who also run Rilis and Unrilis) in 2006 as an outlet for inventive, underground techno with a fresh perspective. 
Rino himself has long been a bastion of the Neapolitan techno scene, whilst Mario, too, has been promoting nights, running clubs and unearthing techno talents ever since the 1990s. 
Together the pair has a great understanding and has managed to mix up established talents with bright new comers, making the label a go to place for fans of proper techno.  Releasing both club ready EPs and full length artist albums in vinyl and digital format.
