Luz, pronounced "Loosh" means light in Portuguese, but it is also the surname of siblings Squirrel and Luz who together with their friend Kat have been experimenting for years with mixing their native Brazilian rhythms with folky guitars, Indie, electronic and Jazzy elements all tied up with soft Brazilian female vocals with a touch of Bossa Nova melancholy to it.
Far from being traditional, Loosh brings a new feel to Brazilian music, that of a group not afraid of experimenting, expanding, creating on a much loved style but without corrupting it, for the rhythm and bossa, does come imprinted in their DNAs.
