So, I had started working with a somewhat unknown Dj/Producer named Dj B-Roc from Boston. He was 15 and already winning Dj battles. We met online but this was in the early 2000's. No social media, just blogs, forums and web sites. MP3.com and My Space. underground hip hop.com and b-boy.com. People would up their tracks to these forums so others could listen and then give feedback. We invented things like SoundCloud there. It was literally the first place and time that an artist could freely get his music heard world wide; beyond either selling it from your trunk or as merchandise at your show. I met everyone this way and grew a decent little world wide following. I met a ton of foreign producers during that era. We, me and B-Roc, were making HITS right out the gate. He soon was getting in the ears of major eMCee and label managers and submitting beats for them. G-Unit was one. He’s since produced for Wycleff, Fetty Wap and Foster the People. He also ended up forming the huge group The Knocks and being the tour Dj for Sean Kingston. Before all of that though I was approached by Disney to make a fun "High School High" kind of song for them. I was hesitant cuz as a true eMCee you really aren't supposed to work in those lanes. It may sound silly but that was just how it was. I thought well, I can get them a "sound" and something "catchy" but what I'll do is stay true to my Hip Hop roots with the message and content. The actual style! I used my in house girl Melea and wrote it all up then had her sing it! We had a very tuned in process and made a TON of music together. Shout out Melea! 

Nothing really ended up happening with the song BUT, this method I used shaped me for the sound and approach I would continue using. That's the process of delivering a catchy and really groove heavy and even "commercial" sounding "sound" but keeping my message true and relevant to Hip Hop and consciousness. I figured I could get more people to hear our message if I kept the melodies pure and catchy! I want to impact EVERYONE. 

That's what we have here. A song using the Dj as the center. Using the real world troubles we all have as the focus of why it's time to let it all out. That we all share the daily struggles but tonight, we're going out!

Like Kanye and Cole, Lootchiano is also a Producer/eMCee. 95% of his music is self produced. Using methods found in Pete Rock, Dj Premier and Dilla. The “chop and play” style of production goes back to the core of “break beats” and “sample rich” Hip Hop heard in the early 90’s. After moving to Salt Lake he met Dj Brisk Oner & Sam Eye Am at Hip Hop shop “Funksion” and began recording and performing. Just a Pen, Pad, 8 track, SP-1200, 2 Turntables and a Mic!

Lootchiano went basically unheard of for all this time. Well world, he's here and he has given us his entire catalog from 2004 to 2009! Artists today would be blessed to put out 7 original albums in their entire career. He has managed to do such a thing in 5 years; while never being truly found out by the world. His album “Past Due To Present” is a snapshot of the early 90’s. He produced the beats and vocals all analog and made every lyric, beat and sound to reflect that of about 1994! Lootchiano has worked with Main Flow, Sweatshop Union, Chino XL, Bounty Killer, Swollen Members, Dj B-Roc of The Knocks, Concise Kilgore and many more. He’s performed with The Pharcyde, Black Eyed Peas, Blackalicious, J-Live, Buju Banton, Talib Kweli, Del the Funky Homosapien and Hieroglyphics, Styles of Beyond, Murs, The Grouch and Eli, The Roots, Common and many more. From colabs with close friends like Redd Green, Melea, TheoryMC, Scenic Byway, Nick Romer, Laquan, GC, Fate Kent, carLos and many more, you can whiteness his ability to blend with other artists and create timeless collaborations. 

Lootchiano is a true B-Boy who grew up living Hip Hop in Washington, Minneapolis, New Jersey and Salt Lake. His younger brother Adam Michael Terry/ Finale Grand is also an esteemed and established Artist. Growing up rapping and breakdancing to Run DMC and Public Enemy, at the same time Hip Hop was, his influences were De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Rakim, The Roots, Nas, and every other Golden Age artist! His youngest brother has an established Youtube presence and channel called “Mr. Terry” that does amazing reactions and episodes about History as well as Video Games. 

A true fan first, Lootchiano has formed an “in the pocket” kind of style/flow. Always bringing melody, delivery, syllables and meaning. His ability is to blend Soul, Rhythm, Cadence, Neo Soul & R&B while never steering from his eMCee/Hip Hop roots. Battle Rhymer, B-Boy and many other outfits compliment this style. His style IS style, mixed with political views and an out look on love and life. Knowledge of Self and Wisdom mixed with those views on love truly shape his artistry. Growing up listening to Reggae, his view on equality, freedom and self worth shine throughout every tone. With tracks and albums like “Help” and “I Love What I Do” we truly see what art means to him. 

Having 3 amazing kids himself named Addy, Ashton and Halle, his family and their influence jump out of every rhyme. Having battled addiction, divorce and even prison sentences, he shows us that freedom, family and love are always around the corner. Aaron Terry is Lootchiano and Lootchiano is Aaron Terry. He is a man of God and puts his faith in everything he does. Now is the time the world hears this kind of timeless music. His flow and lyrics are ready to now be put up against all contemporary musicians and yet we get to go back and listen to his skills from 20 years ago and how they still set the “bars” high!
