Duboko Deep is passionate collector & DJ coming out of Zagreb (Croatia). His love to music started in early age. His mother and father collector’s of chanson francaise,jazz music,canzoni italiane,Sinatra,Dean Martin, soundtrack’s etc. His passion for music begins with vinyl records of disco, italo, hi-energy, Canadian disco, synth-infused, 80s music, soul …He got involved in the electronic music & house in late 80s, shortly after club music took over him. From the very beginnings Deep house was sound to which he remained most faithful, simply because it was love at the first listen! And so it continues… His musical selection is best described as pure, deep, melodic vibes which takes you “Duboko” (“Deep” in Croatian)! Trough his sets you can feel eclectic beautiful synth works, ethereal backdrops, brooding basslines, oriental sounds, and occasional vocal hooks. His music styles are open minded. He practises emotional tunes, and it does not matter whether are new or old. It is important that they raise his emotional moment which can reach out to listeners through his selections. And so it has for years, through various clubs, lounge bars, on different kinds of events like museums, beaches giving out smiles and satisfaction to his listeners. Hello. Welcome back to the Depth Perception Sessions.

This week for episode #43 we welcome one of my favourite artists to the show. Master of the sublime..

Joey Fehrenbach

Bio:

Joey comes from a long line of professional musicians including aunts and uncles who played for everything from symphonies to commercial jingles. He’s been writing music since he was thirteen and for the past twenty, he’s produced electronic music, starting with an old Mac Plus and a few old analog keyboards and an 8-bit sampler. For nine years he recorded dance tracks under the name Dream Traveler. One of his songs,” Time,” appeared on Paul Oakenfold’s Transport CD, one of the highest selling dance compilations of all time.

In 2006 he switched direction and started using his real name. “I wanted a more personal connection to the listener and the only name I could put on it was my own. Band names tend to mask the artist’s identity. There’s nothing more intrinsic than putting your real name on an album, and there’s nothing more personal than writing the most emotional music you can to express to others who you really are.” His goal was to eliminate boundaries and write emotionally charged, melodic music. He even self-released his first album on his own record label to avoid any outside influence.

His music has been used on TV shows like Steven Seagal: Lawman, History Detectives, and Earth 2100: ABC Special Report. Two of his songs, “Behold” and “Being Around You,” were included on Nick Warren’s Global Underground – Paris compilation.

His earlier release, Mellowdrama, topped downtempo and chillout radio charts and sold record numbers over the past four years. Before that, as Dream Traveler, he released numerous dance singles and remixes that became dance floor favorites, played by DJs including John Digweed, Sasha and Nick Warren

Our guest on the show this month is a staple of the New York underground scene, a resident for Bespoke Musik and recently joined the All Day I Dream roster. Christian Voldstad has an incredible ear for music and is a master of his craft. His thoughtful, layered DJ sets focus on the low end frequencies with a melodic and sometimes melancholic touch. The end result is just as suited for a nightclub dance floor as it is for a desert sunset. 

With the upcoming creation of Bespoke Musik’s record label in 2022, expect to hear Christian’s first original productions as well as a preview of his upcoming music project. We can’t wait for it!

George was born in the city of Xanthi, Greece but currently lives in Athens. From his early years he showed interest in music, which came natural considering the cultural growth and love of the arts that surrounds his birthplace.

He draws inspiration by everyday scenes and his tracks reveal a man with an artistic ear and view of life. He started as a DJ from the early age 14 and became quite successful, starting from Xanthi and moving downwards the country.

He has worked with some well-known producers-DJ’s such as: Behrouz, Sabb and more. His tracks received support by globally renowned DJ’s and producers. Some of them are John Digweed,Hernan Cattaneo,Nick Warren,Lee Burridge,Lost Desert,Audiofly,DAVI.
