In this special edition of Final Thoughts with Hammer, Hammer demands that Nebraska Senator Steve Halloran of LD 33 (R-Hastings) resign for his conduct unbecoming of a senator last night, in which, during floor debate on LB441, Halloran inserted the name “Senator Cavanaugh” at the end of select sentences about the sexual assault.

Hammer thinks that UNK got it right with the hiring of Julie Shaffer for senior vice chancellor for academic affairs, and then he ranted about politics for 20 minutes. 

Namely, Alex discussed the Nebraska GOP doubling down in its support for Steve Halloran, and a Michigan representative thinking that every plane flying in the sky is full of illegal immigrants (the plane actually contained members of the Gonzaga Mens Basketball team.)

But on a day like today, where Alex is helping out with a telethon for a children's cancer research hospital after he's done for the morning at KLPR, he reminds everyone (but namely himself because he needs to remember it a lot) that politics isn't that end all of our lives. There's bigger planes to worry about.
