The piece is premiered on 23 Apr 2023 by clarinetist Eric Fung and pianist Wing Chong Kam.

Virtuoso Fiesta for Four Violins and Bass is composed in 2023 to celebrate the birth of the new music organisation Virtuoso Fiesta and to express happiness, gratitude and passion for music. Virtuoso Fiesta's mission is to address social issues and wellbeing and to connect communities worldwide through the finest music making.

This world premiere is performed by violinists Ruda Lee, Steven Chang, Heewon Uhm and Zheng Yang and bassist Masami Nagai.

The Lost Inner Child

Emotio is derived from the Latin root that relates to emotions and denotes a stirring up of feelings. The music explores 喜怒哀樂 (xi nu ai le), a Chinese phrase which represents a gamut of feelings. The four movements each portrays joy, fury, sorrow and happiness.
