I am a huge Nintendo fan and my favourite series of all time has been Metroid. This is me paying a homage to the fantastic soundtrack of the series. I drew my influences from scorers such as Hans Zimmer to create a dark and desolate atmosphere for this track. I used the previous samples of Metroid games in this score as a homage to them whilst putting my own touch to it. I wanted to score to be dark, violent but with a hint of 'heroism' to it. This is what I came up with.

I wrote this while watching the film Hancock when at the end he gets the strength and courage to escape from the hospital to save his kin. 

I decided to break away from my traditional practises of string instruments but experimented with drums and synths. It was so much fun to make this song!

It's titled "Goodbye Adversity" because it plays on the idea of no longer letting obstacles in your way get the better of you. So this is a message to say "I'm done" and rising above it all.

Written over two days, this piece started out originally as a Hip-Hop/Rap track. From there it had these beautiful melodies in it and I felt that it did not fit the beat at all...so with the piano and strings extracted from the song, this is what it is now. Hope you like it.

Rise

This song was written for an animation project for a student at RMIT. The animation is titled 'Playmate' and it follows the story of two girls who forge a bond and friendship whilst in a hospital. Only there is a major twist to it. 

I collaborated with the animator 'Yvonne Yu' and it was a privilege and honour to have worked with her. This piece of music was not only a stepping stone for me but an opening to a new style and form of writing. I put my heart and soul into this project and wrote with pure emotion. I hope you enjoy it.

Friend in Need

Writing is my passion and I don't want to stop. 
It's what I love and I know I can be great at it. However for the past few months I doubted myself over various reasons and I questioned if I could write something inspiring once again. It was a huge writer's block for me. My friends have kept on encouraging me to write and I thank them for their support. It means the world to me.
This is dedicated to a friend. My gift to her. 
The song is titled 'Hikari' meaning in Japanese 'Light'. I guess we need light in our lives so we can look at the path that we're walking on. Enjoy.
