There’s a lot of unfortunate things that happen in life that are outside of our control, and this is a song about choosing acceptance instead of putting the blame on yourself or someone else. I usually look at myself first when something bad happens in my life, but there’s a delicate balance between holding yourself accountable and having an emotionally abusive internal dialogue. I used the context of a relationship but I think the concept applies to an infinite amount of scenarios. It’s a song I needed to write.
