UK DJ/producer Latmun will add another string to his bow this February as he launches his first label project, Lateral, marking and celebrating his eighth year as an artist. A firm fixture of the global circuit with appearances at venues including DC10, Amnesia, Printworks, Club Space, Hï and Warehouse Project, his sets for the likes of Music On, Paradise and ANTS have seen his profile surge since breaking through. And yet, his stock only looks set to rise further across 2023.

Having released music via a long list of renowned labels across his career, including Hot Creations, Solid Grooves, Relief, Sola, Repopulate Mars, Mindshake and elrow music, the launch unveils a project which has been a long-time in the works - kicking things off in style with his new single, 'Just Play', with further material scheduled throughout the year ahead...

'The first release on Lateral has been a long time coming, but finding the right track has been challenging as I wanted it to reflect correctly what the label is about. 'Just Play' is meant to be exactly that, a combination of different styles resulting in something unique, which hopefully makes you want to 'just play it'. - Latmun.

Opening via a snaking bassline and crisp drum shots before building into a driving anthem armed with skittering, warped vocal samples, 'Just Play' is an impactful and mischievous cut shaped for the peak time, revealing an impressive first glimpse into the future direction of the label.

How could humanity develop such fear of their fellow beings, to the extent of favoring aggression to heal its wounds? Is it not sheer madness to seek the elimination of our fellow humans in the name of beliefs that feed our fear of the other? Perhaps these beliefs are nothing more than the product of a reality that exists only in our own perception of the world?
Today, in the middle of the street, with the warmth on my face, I made a promise to meet strangers and listen to their stories. For through this, perhaps, in our exchanges, we will discover peace.

Aujourd'hui, au milieu de la rue, la chaleur sur mon visage, je me suis promis d'aller à la rencontre d'inconnus afin d'écouter leurs histoires. Car ainsi peut-être, aux travers nos échanges, nous découvrirons la paix.

Hotly tipped Brit producer/DJ, Ben Sterling, returns to Eats Everything’s Edible imprint with a brace of funky belters for your ears!
