Very special thank you to Christina Perri and David Hodges for this amazing song - the original English version - "Distance", to Jason Mraz for harmonies, and to Ron Lach for his beautiful background videos.

It is always tricky to translate a song and keep it's meaning, given that, the French language needs approximately 30% more wording to express the same thought.  Then add in the need to rhyme, and to try to make a phraseology so that it doesn't sound like you are speaking a whole paragraph as you sing.   Very tricky - but worth the effort for such a beautiful song in English. Let's share the love of music in all languages :)

I WROTE THIS SONG FOR INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY 2023.  It's a song of hope and support for anyone who needs it.  During my career as a high school teacher, it was a privilege to work hard and be present every day for youth as a positive and supportive role model.  The song also honours all women leaders for their strength and ability to raise others up.
I am thankful for my female friendships.

Music came back into my life only a few years ago. I was inspired when I found I had more time to listen, and I reconnected with just how impactful music can be.  

Shortly after moving to Vancouver Island, I decided to learn to arrange and mix tracks on my computer, which allowed me to record, edit, and produce songs. In the past, I had dabbled in music. I knew I was an ok singer...I could play guitar a little by ear, and harmonize… but it was quite a surprising gift to learn that, using technology, I could record instruments and vocals, and use other digital tools to create music. I also enjoy lyric-writing a lot!... and then experimenting with how to sing those phrases accompanied by the tracks I laid is such a fulfilling creative process.  

Social networking has allowed me to work with many other musicians from around the planet, and I am forever thankful to the people who have joined me on this musical journey.  This debut album is a partial compilation of my early ventures into this wonderful world of music making.  
Though my song writing crosses into many genres, including R&B, Jazz, Pop, Hip Hop, EDM, House, Latin, Folk and fusions of these, my debut album, which drops on July 10, 2020, focuses on the softer side of my writing – Folk, Country, and Pop.  My music is available to stream or download on Spotify, iTunes & Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube & YouTube Music, Google Play, and others.
