With Remant / What I Need, Munich-based dj and producer @sonsonmusic makes his debut on Lossless, delivering two refined, reductionist cuts that embody his precision-focused approach to contemporary house music. Known for his instinctive feel for rhythm and atmosphere, Sonson pares his sound back to its essence — tracks built to move bodies through pure groove and subtle tension.

Opening with Remant, the EP sets an immediate tone of restraint and focus. A stripped-down house tool in its purest form, the track rolls forward with unwavering drive — tightly sequenced drums, a tactile low-end pulse, and minimal elements that interlock with precision.
It’s functional yet deeply human, channeling warmth through rhythm and space, designed for those moments deep within a set when control and flow become one.

What I Need shifts gears slightly, combining broken rhythmic structures and syncopated energy. The beat drifts between patterns, creating a sense of oﬀ-kilter movement that feels vibrant. Its sparse textures, driving and repetitive vocal sample and fractured swing reveal a more experimental side of Sonson’s production, maintaining dance floor tension while pushing beyond the usual 4/4 grid.

We are opening our Lossless archives with „From The Vaults“ - a string of EPs showcasing our personal favourites and secret weapons picked from our catalogue, spiced up with exclusives and/or previously unreleased music we simply couldn’t hold back any longer.

The opener „Si“, contributed by Atelier’s Alexander Inggs with Joburg’s Itai Hakim on 
vocal duties is such a tune. We’ve heavily roadtested it pre-pandemic and it got some amazing crowd reactions and feedback. It’s the definition of a deep and atmospheric tune with just the right dose of tension to set a dancefloor on fire.
Next one doesn’t need any big intro. Anthony Georges Patrice’s “Parallel Romance” marked our very first release and it’s still causing goosebumps recalling the moment when Mano Le Tough dropped it in his May 2014 Boiler Room set. Shortly after “Parallel Romance” was on heavy rotation with Dixon, Âme and many many more for months. We couldn’t have asked for a better track and way to start things off with our label LOSSLESS. Mathias Schober’s popular “SB Re-Arrange” is the version we’re featuring here in a slightly edited version.  
Shortcut to 2016 – the year our vinyl releases came in red sleeves and Neil Flynn delivered his second EP named after his sister “J.E.N.”. “J.E.N.” features vocals by the Irish songstress Katie Kim which Trikk elaborately made use of in his “ Trikk Selva Densa Mix”.   
Closing off things is our dutch friend and über-producer / live-act Love over Entropy with  „Autumnal“ - one of our personal favourites. “Autumnal” is a playful, deep and percussive affair. The slightly melancholic melodies and vibe reminds of the earlier DJ Gregory. This track will - despite the name - excellently perform in sunny midsummer too - word!

We are back with the 2nd instalment of our “FROM THE VAULTS” series. This series brings back great memories of our catalogue’s finest sprinkled with some yet un-released cuts. Our lead single here is kinda both - unreleased and a “classic”. Mathias Schober's ("SHOW-B") rework of Jaap Ligthart’s “I Know Change” is a weapon, no doubt. “Unreleased?” you might ask. Well, we’ve released a quickly sold out run of handstamped vinyl back in 2015 including a “Less Vox” version of Mathias’ remix on the flipside. Fast forward six years we’re releasing this version in digital formats for the first time, which btw. still features plenty of Alice Rose’s unique voice to cause goosebumps.

Shooting star David Kochs delivering an eclectic and wild "202X" drum and synth for SBTH's "204D". Like few others of his generation Kochs manages to use very little to create great effect on the dancefloor. His superb melody writing is once again guaranteeing goosebumps on the dancefloor.

Long overdue we welcome @love-over-entropy back on Lossless. Michel’s Antipodes EP is slightly different than what you’d expect from him without sacrificing his deep and hypnotic trademark sound. Typically a Love over Entropy release would be full of little details, tiny rhythmical changes, plenty of automation and small breaks but this one is different hence the name Antipode. Draw a line from any place on Earth through the center of the Earth and its diametrically opposite would be its antipode. Do you still follow? Good!

Antipode I (My Discotom is bigger than yours) grows from the same seed as the original but reminds more of early Chicago house grooves and adds a spaced-out Discotom that beautifully guides through its 6:35. Endless groove.

Switching seaside ambience for a sound shaped by inner-city living, Atelier’s second full-length studio album, Lights Towards The Exit, channels the mood of a sleepless cityscape.

Lights Towards The Exit is Atelier’s second full-length studio album. After the release of Varsam Court at the end of 2019 on Lossless, run by mentors and friends Mathias Schober and Thomas Herb, the duo experimented with different ideas in the studio, and at the start of 2020 a common thread began to appear between a few of the tracks which laid the foundation for the sound of their second album.

Both Alexander and Jaś moved to Berlin in the period before the release of Varsam Court from their hometown of Cape Town, South Africa, where their first album was written and recorded. Moving provided some challenges, particularly with what was the most essential equipment to bring from their previous studio set-up, but those limitations proved to be useful in incorporating new instruments and techniques to the recording process.
Lights Towards The Exit was written and recorded in different spaces in Berlin – from bedrooms in apartment blocks to three different studios across the city. The different locations all had a specific ambience – such as 4th- and 5th-floor bedrooms with busy street views; a studio with no windows in a typical old Berlin backyard complex forever under threat of being sold and gentrified; and a bigger studio with windows on the opposite side of the corridor overlooking the backyard of a mechanic workshop. The final details and edits were completed in Atelier’s current studio, in a contrasting area surrounded by office blocks, plazas, 9-5ers and, most importantly, their friends and colleagues.
Swapping the mountains, sea and seclusion for tall buildings, backyards and a new community, Lights Towards The Exit channels the sensation of being surrounded by people, but still feeling like you're on your own. The album was written through three years of cold winters, sweaty summers and a period where the world stood still during the pandemic. Frustrated with the cease of momentum, but still optimistic, Atelier disappeared from public view, abandoning social media to focus on recording, songwriting and experimentation. It was a difficult time: the duo longed to perform and continue producing music, and the imposed limitations sometimes felt like an impossible obstacle. Ultimately, though, this would provide unexpected inspiration and influence the sound and direction of the new album.

The sound of Lights Towards The Exit is not a departure from their first album, but a progression: influenced by the new surroundings in the duo’s adoptive city, Atelier’s second album is an ode to first-time experiences, new languages, challenges, club culture and the shift from youth to maturity, as well as a balm to those stuck somewhere in between. The overall sound is a lift not in tempo, but in energy, matching the openness needed to make a new start in a new place.

Berlin based label Lossless returns for it's 11th release.  The “Ribolla EP“ comes courtesy of the label heads Mathias Schober and Thomas Herb under their alias “SBTH”. A record showing that only with the knowledge of the past you can create the future.
 
The title track ‚Ribolla' is deeply embedded in the history of dance music, yet it sounds like the future. You hear a fundament of classic Deep House, sprinkled with just the right touch of Italo glam while being so cosmic and hypnotic that it pulls you into a vortex.
The flipside “Diffondersi” in contrast is a slick, slow and laid back Electro tune with a retro futuristic synth work out on top. Spaced out deepness at it’s best whereas the “Alternate Version” takes the track from the warm up to your favourite discoteque’s peak time. It draws it’s drive from it’s repetitive Disco bassline and is even closer to the Cosmic-Italo heritage than “Ribolla”.         
With this release Mathias and Thomas never tried to recreate the past or glorify it, they used the past as their inspiration and put their own bold stamp on contemporary club music. 

For the past years Lossless has been doing exactly this - with a string of successful and unique releases from the growing family Trikk, Anthony Georges Patrice, Neil Flynn, Love Over Entropy and King Britt - floating with Mathias Schober’s solo works and the bossmen project SBTH.

LL1219 is introducing a new act, hailing from Cape Town, South Africa. ATELIER is a duo formed of Jaś Miszewski & Alexander Inggs. Their ‚Something To Fill An Hour‘ EP is a prelude to a full-length player which will be released early next year. On the EP you will find the beautifully crafted and organic sounding original which is backed up by two remixes coming from the super in-demand and always tasteful PEREL and the label heads Thomas and Mathias as SBTH.

‚Something To Fill An Hour‘ is a deep yet energetic track with all the right ingredients that make the Atelier sound - analog synths, drum machines, guitars, effect pedals and last but not least Jaś' voice. It’s evolving from start until finish and will sooth you with it’s wide and deep sounds and a beautiful reverb - which was recorded in a church.

The remixes will please the dance floors, while Perel went for her trademark sound with 80s infected melodies and a broken drum machine based rhythm, SBTH built a strong foundation based on a slightly broken, low end driven beat with loads of tension to give the vocal the right appearance as the main element. All this makes an excellent introduction to Atelier and we’re happy to welcome two new faces to Lossless.

Something To Fill An Hour (SBTH Remix) Prelisten

We are pleased to present you the second EP of the infernal duo Internacional Electrical Rhythms formed of Trikk and Mathias Schober.
Let’s dive right in and start with Azaka and it’s live recorded percussion. This track just builds and builds until it falls back into that irresistible and sexy main groove. It reminds a bit of old DJ Gregory tracks, but 10 BPM less. Some would even say it is epic, we wouldn’t argue though. 
The second track Kosanba keeps the EP in balance. Kosanba sounds more like a Sci-Fi movie soundtrack at first listen. A basic rhythm built around a modular sequence, upright piano, washed out guitars and an eerie spacey melody with tons of reverb form a track that still works in a club context, yet it’s definitely one of those tracks for the right moments. Bruno and Mathias sure continue what they’ve started so well last year.

Azaka (prelisten)

LL1220 is here, an overdue first release in 2019. 2019 is also about celebrating 5 years of Lossless. For the occasion we’ve decided to return to the dancefloors with the 3rd installment of our Outbound series. Outbound.3 again is a collection of exclusives by the labels core artists, spiced up with some hot additional contributions from befriended artists. 
This 2x12“ beautifully showcases a bit of our musical universe.

Neil Flynn is kicking things off with his track „Trá“. This deep, percussive affair showing off Neil’s trademark touch once again - celtic trippiness that sucks you in immediately. Then we move „8 Floors Up“ - testament of some fruitful studio sessions held by label boss Mathias Schober and the South African duo Atelier - formed by Jaś Miszewski and Alexander Inggs - in the headhoncho’s Berlin studio. It’s a wonderful song, perfectly balanced between underground electronica and pop music only in the best sense of course.
 
Flip record one and put the needle on it’s our dear friend Ian Pooley delivering the goods with „Durmitor“ – a truly epic and future-meets-past kinda piece, sitting on a rock solid and bottom heavy groove. This track took our hearts by storm. We also felt a strong urge representing with a new SBTH track and so we have the deep and percussive „Planet Greg“ next up – one (of many) musical perspectives we have on modern, afro inspired house music with a little leftfield twist. 
 
Side C we have Frankey & Sandrino with „Kuma“ – a funky melodic lick, building and building on a warm, clean yet very effective groove. This one’s taking you away and when the synth solo hits, there’s no way back. Moving onwards Love Over Entropy serves a tasty as always „Lemon Pie Type Vibe“ – a simply beautiful and airy track build around a broken beat. We consider this as a very special birthday cake. Have a slice!
 
Side D introduces new talent Hadiid who’s representing from the island of Borneo in Malaysia. Rudi’s view on electronic music is perfectly merging his cultural roots in South East Asia with the ability to create cutting edge dancefloor weapons. „Rebelwave“ is just the perfect proof. Finishing off the release in style is our Anthony Georges Patrice. The frenchman who set things off for us with his now classic „Parallel Romance“ five years ago, is showcasing a different side with „CTAFY“. This bouncy breakbeat with airy synth textures and delayed percussion lines also highlights Anthony’s strong development as an artist. Wait for the bassline drop!
 
Looking back on five years of Lossless we feel extremely excited that nearly all of the artists who release with us to date are part of this new Outbound.3 compilation. Thanks to all artists and everyone who supported our Lossless journey so far. It feels as if we’ve only started yesterday so there’s more to come.

Frankey & Sandrino - Kuma (snippet)

It’s Indian Summer again and it’s like an unwritten rule to please you with another Atelier release at this beautiful time of the year.
So here we are with a collection of superb re-interpretations of a few tracks taken from the duos debut album “Varsam Court”. Delivering the goods we have no one less than Dutch high flyer’s Tunnelvisions, Lisboa’s LuxFrágil resident Switchdance, Heidelberg’s Lopazz & Casio Casino, Lossless co-head Mathias Schober and Alexander Inggs – one half of Atelier.
No doubt that we’re proud about this line-up and couldn’t be happier with the music we’re going to share with you now – enjoy!
