Interview: 

(JD) Please tell us a bit about yourselves?

Hello everyone, we are Attila and Szilard aka Pleasure Voyage, a Hungarian DJ and producer duo. We both played in smaller and bigger projects before. We first met in Budapest at a Tensnake party in person in the summer of 2018. Before that we already talked via the internet and discussed producing, djing and stuff and we realized we have similar interests. Two or three weeks later, Szilard invited Attila to play music at a rooftop party, and we liked it so much that we felt that we had to continue this. This is how the Pleasure Voyage project was born. Meanwhile Attila also gained good experience in DJing, because Szilard had already a good exposure DJing with his nu-disco project internationally, but then Covid appeared. That's when Attila really immersed himself in music production. “I had a couple of releases before, but with Pleasure Voyage, I felt that I would be proud of these songs and would gladly play them at the right moment in DJ sets.”

(JD) How and where was the mix recorded?

We would like to pay tribute to Lost in Paradise and to all balearic music lovers with a true balearic mix. The process is is quite simple, we usually create a shared folder, and put our carefully selected songs into it, which then Szilard mixes to the best of his ability.

(JD) I’ve followed you for quite some time, I like the balance you find in your DJ sets with new and old as well as the different styles, whether it be Balearic or Italo House. Have you both always been into this side of things or how did you end up here?

We both have a disco/house/electronic music background, dating back to our youth, but this project is the pinnacle of our passion for balearic. We are constantly looking for music, which can be old or new, and we feel that we have to present them to the people, then they will be included in our sets and we are inspired by them. We love vinyls and digging. In fact, the record collector initiated Attila to not only listen to one track from the artist or the album, but to listen to the whole album and the B-side songs as well.
We love daytime disco, and balearic is the most suitable music for this scene. Plus funky, world groove music can easily fit into it as well. Later, as the party gets more active and the sun goes down, we also like to play a bit more dynamic music. In recent times, an incredible amount of inspiration has come from italo house or dream house, as the music is not so rough and can really hypnotize, plus we can easily put on a 90s record with a 2023 production. We simply love it and so do party people. I would say that we like to be part in the more relaxed music, but we also want to take our part off the night music. This way we get the so-called balance of yin-yang/day-night.

(JD) I own quite a few of your productions including your recent inclusion on the Dischi Malizia compilation and also the Time Unlimited ep from last year - do you have any upcoming releases?

We really appreciate your support! We have a few releases in the pipeline. A Pleasure Voyage Edit EP will be released in a couple of weeks on the Saint Wax label led by Gledd. We wanted to have such an EP for a long time. And also up next, is our summer appearance that will be released on an Italian label Quattro Bambole, which will be a real highlight in our discography, because the Azzurro mini-album will have a vocal number that we thank the label's managers, Francesco Fisotti and Davide Done. We hope that it will be a real summer hit.

Happy 2025 to all the Idlers out there! We're back with our first mix missive of the year - and it's a doozy. When it comes to edit records, so much has already been done. These London-based boys decided to ditch the well-trod paths of Disco, Boogie & Soul to dive headfirst into the devil's maw that is American Rock & Country music, making some of the best we’d heard in awhile, subtly turning some of the stodgiest 60's & 70's shitkicker jams into glorious glitterball anthems. The fact that they're kickass DJ's to boot made this decision a no-brainer! Ladies & germs, please welcome to the Idle Cellars Mix Series stable - Flying Mojito Bros! These two fine gents were extremely gracious - if not eager! - to tackle the Idle Cellars brief and we all have hit the jackpot. Superkoloritas is a lithuanian beach-pop band and i really love the colours they bring in!

My remix of their track "Vasara Pasaka" was the theme song of last summer and became one of the most played tracks during the sunset sessions in Juodkrantė. It truly lived up to the name “Summer Fairytale.”

For the compilation, I edited the remix once again—this time, making it more acoustic and live, with the flute taking the lead, while the beautiful unison of Superkoloritas whispers "Vasara Pasaka". 

V.A. – Saulėlydis — an ode to the sunset — is coming out as a 2×LP and digital release on June 21, 2025.
