Finnish producers Juho Kavasto and Sainey Gibba, more commonly known as Askel & Elere, are back with a bang. Their first single of the year ‘Get Up / Nothing More (feat. YENIAS)’ in February threw shoes, turned heads and warmed hearts, receiving support from UKF. Since that release, the pair have been working diligently together on their debut album. This techy, futuristic piece of sci-fi liquid is titled ‘Simulations’ and is set for release on the 29th of October. 

The final single ‘Eclipse’ is a wonderfully weird and experimental journey into the world of acid techno, familiarly framed in a 160bpm context. This break from the d&b norm really highlights the versatility and intelligence these two young producers possess, and tees up the album in perfect fashion. These pulsing, progressive sounds land in all good stores on the 22nd of October 2021.

We’re proud to present the next instalment of the Dispatch Blueprints series from the legendary Ink & Gremlinz. Writing music together for almost 3 decades, they have pioneered their own take on drum and bass and so they make the perfect pairing to continue the Blueprints ethos, presenting their take on classic, old skool sounds with contemporary production techniques.

‘Juno Dawn’ is a tribute to the ‘atmospheric’ tracks heard at legendary clubs like ‘Speed’. It is a direct reference to Ink’s own ARX (Architecture Recordings) sound and style, a seven minute journey through the depths of these emotive and imaginative soundscapes.

In contrast ‘Faceless’ is a nod to the ’Horsemen’ sound that Ink & Gremlinz have been part of for many years – created originally by The 4 Horsemen (Ink, Loxy, Dylan and Keaton) this tough and rolling sound found home on labels like Renegade Hardware and Metalheadz – primarily focusing on b-boy break beats, with those deep tribal and tech elements that continue throughout, developing in a continual roll out.

Tephra returns to Rebel Music for his debut solo outing.

From the opening drums of the title track 'Resurface', Tephra sets the tone for this homecoming release. Dropping 4 slices of breakbeat science, each oozing with the crafted, melancholic sound he's become known for.

Teaming up with Brazils Dunk on the energetic 'Bounce', Kathryn Brenna on the vocal led 'Feel Alive' and long time friend Paulo on the deep and intricate 'Unity', this EP definitely has something for everyone.

Tytanium Armour Records return with their latest drop Contra Tech. After two vinyl releases from the imprint, it's a return to the digital space. Regular label names Semiotix, Meecha, Tycaine and 
Travesty return with hard-hitting productions, and Manifest contributes a killer remix of an already heavyweight tune. Lovers of the darker strands of drum & bass will gravitate to Contra 
Tech, as it features a heady mixture of tech-step, neuro and dark flavours.

Travesty opens the compilation with 'The Matrix'. Shuddering synth lines make up the intro, hitting the speakers and vibrating into the ether. Underneath, detailed percussion burrows into the deepest part of the brain, setting the tone for the rest of the tune. 

Semiotix's 'Dropship' wastes no time achieving top speed. The tune is a barrage of choppy lead lines and head-spinning percussion, with Semiotix deploying a labyrinthine melody among the sonic madness later in the track. 

Tycaine and Meecha collide on 'Phase Shifters'. Industrial bass notes reverberate around the speaker in the intro, with the two deploying intense low-end pressure and driving rhythm lines in the verse. 'Phase Shifters' is a no-nonsense banger designed 
to cause dancefloor havoc.

Manifest contributes a remix of 'Overhaul', originally by Semiotix. The remix is a weighty banger, minimal in scope and featuring impactful bass lines mixed with grinding percussion.

Release and Meecha close out the compilation with ‘Pitfall (2021 VIP)’. Here, spine-tingling percussion lines play out underneath distorted motifs, ensuring listeners are left with a track to 
remember.
