Lost Colours found a warehouse in Leeds and built a studio in it. That’s where the story begins and where the kaleidoscope of sound took shape, thanks to a lot of high calibre session musicians, brought together by the vision of Martin Allinson and Howard Sessions. “The primary inspiration for the album is every year we get together with a few of our closest friends, set up the studio with a big visualiser screen, the music turned up loud, the lights off and spend the night immersing ourselves to our favourtie albums played in full, it’s really the highlight of my year, fully immersed in a album and being taken on a journey as it was supposed to be taken, the concept for Talking In Technicolour was to make a album especially for those nights”
Splashing a range of dreamy influences and vibrancy on their spectacular debut single One Space Left, and even more psychedelic and expansive trip-hop EP peregrination, A Different Life, the duo paint their most ambitious and celebratory canvas yet on the debut album, Talking In Technicolour. The album’s eclectic diversity and arc can be heard on the opening blissed out flight of fantasy ‘Organic Adventures’, and later with the nine-minute, We’re All One’  finale, which moves to an entirely different beat and pace, turning out an hypnotic, universal uplifting club banger. In between the duo take us on a loved up roller coaster of psychedelics, electronics, horns, strings, sitars, multi continental percussion, multiple vocalists, Phil Spector style wall of sound kick-ins and Brian Eno atmospherics.
Lending either dreamy ethereal lulls or earthy soul to the Lost Colours signature are guest vocalists Rebekah Dobbins (of Nouvelle Vague and The Living Gods Of Haiti fame) on the inviting universality ‘One Space Left’ and the Andreya Triana & Bonobo partnership imbued ‘There’s A Bird In My Heart’, Sara Garvey (DJ, writer and soulstress known for her work with Nightmares on Wax) on the airy stargazing opulent ‘Lying With The Stars’, and fellow Leeds compatriot Sam Thornton on the indie acid-jazz accelerator ‘Different Life’ and trip-hop, explosive feel-good pop anthem ‘Technicolour High’.
Mixed by Bjork’s producer, Damian Taylor, who said it was ”Possibly one of the most colourful records I’ve ever worked on!”, Talking In Technicolour is a summer holiday, distilled into one extraordinary and consciously mind-expanding epic. Most albums are a journey but not many albums take you to a place as beautifully lush and escapist as Lost Colours do.
Putting a smile back on peoples faces with their brand of life- affirming ‘psychtronica’ the boys have gained a lot of momentum and radio play, including BBC Radio 1, BBC 6music, BBC Introducing, Virgin Radio, Amazing Radio, Soho Radio, Sat Bisla’s Passport Approved, and Radio X. The duo has a string of summer dates including a Main Stage slot at Kendal Calling, supporting the Hacienda Classical Orchestra, and multiple other festivals/gigs.

Hard Dirt features 12 remixers from across the globe bringing their own unique take to the creative melting pot that is Hello Cosmos, ‘Hard Dirt’ offers up a varied electronic twist to the bands defiant genre hopping catalogue. 

Remixes featured on the LP come courtesy of Richard Norris adding Hello Cosmos to his impressive catalogue of remixes including (Brian Eno, Tame Impala, Pet Shop Boys, Happy Mondays) and many more. Jagz Kooner who is credited with creating some of the most genre defining songs of the last 30 years, working with Andrew Weatherall remixing and producing for the likes of Future Sound Of London, Bjork, New Order and The Chemical Brothers) before forming the seminal band Sabres Of Paradise, plus long standing writer and producer Joe Thompson, who’s tracks have been spun by iconic DJ’s Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold and Paul Van Dyk. 

From 4/4 melodic techno on Madame Electrifie’s ‘Loud Is Beautiful Remix’ to all out indie disco reminiscent of early LCD Soundsystem on Joe Thompson’s ‘Raise The Dawn Remix’, ‘Hard Dirt’ serves up a spectrum of unpredictable electronic delights.

“My aim with Hello Cosmos was to create a world that could have an ever expanding gang of creative collaborators. The remixes and re-edits have always been an important part of the project. Being able to hear new takes on the tracks from old friends, label buddies, electronic pioneers & new artists has been epic. We’ve called it ‘Hard Dirt’ as the tracks are reworked from our debut album ‘Dream Harder’ & mixtape ‘Golden Dirt’

The collaborative vision of Leeds based musician/producers, Martin Allinson and James Howard, Lost Colours represents a love of music in all its multi-coloured forms. Heavily influenced by Cinematic, Psychedelic, Live and Electronic sounds, Lost Colours weave ever evolving tripped out musical tapestries for the mind, body and soul. 

Being a secret studio project for the past year Martin and Howard thought it was about time the world got to hear what Lost Colours is all about, so they put this EP together to give the world a taste of whats to come over the next year. 

The original track “One Space Left” is taken from their first Ep, to be released in April 2017, it features vocals from Rebekah Dobbins (Living Gods Of Haiti / Nouvelle Vague) and Sitar from the fantastic Jasdeep Singh Degun (Sky young Musician of the Year/ Donovan / Royal Philharmonic Orchestra ) 

All My Friends is a cover version of LCD Soundsystem Ft Vocals from “In Echos” Darran Jackson, “The Do Rite Trio’s” front lady Emma Mason and Trumpet from the amazing Malcolm Strachan ( Jay Z, Jamiroquai, Mark Ronson, Adele)

‘Beautiful music’ Chris Hawkins (BBC 6 Music), ‘the most talked about show of the festival’ Kendal Calling, ‘An Odyssey’ Phil Taggart (BBC Radio 1), ‘Timeless music and a headline worthy performance’ Secret Garden Party.
The Psychtronica duo Lost Colours from Leeds release their début single One Space Left (featuring additional vocals by Rebekah Dobbins of Nouvelle Vague and The Living Gods Of Haiti)  on the 12th of February.
Rob Da Bank, no stranger to a splash of colour himself, called it "immense!".
Eddy Temple-Morris called it as a tune of the year for 2018. 
In addition to the original edit described by Tim Whale of Emerging Indie Bands as…
‘…An expansive track, which, akin to the natural physics of pressure equalisation fills the room with billowing clouds of sitar, electronics and instrumentation in an unhurried composition which takes the listener on a carpet-ride of hypnotic texture and weave leaving the audience staring through kaleidoscopic eyes long after the sounds have drifted past the ears…’ 
The single also has a remix of Once Space Left from Ty Unwin, one the UKs most established composers. An eloquently produced piece of music in its own right that compliments the sublime production of the original. The stripped back cinematic atmosphere is an ear pleasing feast of soundscapes and production not dissimilar to the sound of Trent Reznor. 
This single is merely a taster to an exciting year for Lost Colours who will be releasing the EP “Different LIfe” in March and the eleven track album “Talking In Technicolour” in April, which Bjork's producer, Damian Taylor, who mixed their album, said ’…It's the most colourful music I've ever worked on…’
