After 25+ years on the music scene, TercerMundo still has a way of reinventing their music that has kept the band fresh, always on the works and never failing to deliver ear-catching songs that range from whisper-soft love ballads to dance-inducing electronica, with no compromise on their rock and roll roots.
It's a music-democracy built around the talented Jacome brothers: Felipe on lead guitar, Daniel on drums, and Juan Manuel on guitar and keyboards, all three perfoming equally as sogwriters, producers and showmen, sharing main and backing vocals with ease, though most times Felipe, as the master showman, can be found in the lead. Classic TercerMundo songs like "Tarjetitas", "Te Amaré", "Si Dijeras", "Corazones Rotos" and many others have become life's soundtrack of at least two generations of ecuadorians; Gen-Xers and Millenials alike feel at home in the band's energy-packed, über-emotional live performances.
Growing up in a musical family, the Jacome brothers knew early in their childhood that being part of a rock and roll band was in their future. Listening to The Beatles and Elvis records from dad's vinyls collection and watching mom write and play her own songs on a guitar, made it all come naturally. Instead of hanging out and messing around with their teenage friends, the brothers would shut the doors, line the windows with old mattresses and just play their instruments, practicing and rehearsing long and hard, learning the musical craft that would eventually translate into writing their first local hit song, "Hasta Que Tú Llegaste", in 1989.
Such milestone was promptly followed by singles "La Frágil" in 1990, "Duérmete Junto a Mí" in 1991, and album "El Rock No Ha Muerto" in 1994, turning TercerMundo into a nation-wide success and having audiences and critics alike swoon over the band. This led to a steady stream of live shows that established TercerMundo as the first Ecuadorian band to ever do a series of successful live tours throughout Ecuador, playing at sold-out venues in every major city. 
11 albums released and hundreds of live shows performed have made clear that TercerMundo is still going strong as a band, imprinting vitality into their music both onstage and in the studio.
TercerMundo is currently working on their 12th album, to be released in 2015.
