Ernesto Rosa, better known in the music world as Vema, is a multifaceted artist with a prominent presence as a DJ and producer.

He began his career in music production around the year 2000. Seven years later, he founded his own collective, Desobediencia Bassika. His influence was felt both in Tarragona, with a residency at the Sala Golfus on Saturdays, and in Barcelona, where he performed on Wednesdays, marking his distinctive style on the music scene.

Vema has starred in numerous performances in emblematic clubs such as Razzmatazz, Florida135, Laut, Poble Espanyol, Upload, Mi-7, among others, and has participated in renowned festivals such as "Art-e" in Tarragona, Therapy Sessions Barcelona, and has been a headliner at the 4.Hsa Groningen Festival in Holland, as well as at the Montagood Festival in Alcarrás.

In 2009, together with Ramone and Isrra, he founded the collective Resfriado Kolombiano Mafia, obtaining residencies at the Begood venue and at the Row14 club for Drum&Bass and Breakcore events. This experience led him to share the stage with renowned artists such as Venetian Snares, Otto Von Schrirach, Mark - N, Enduser, Cooh, Current Value, Panacea, Scoot Egg, Forbidden Society, The Sect, Counterstrike, among others.

Parallel to his career as a DJ, Vema has contributed as a producer, providing beats to the Hip Hop group San Ildefonso Rap Orquesta in 2003.

He released his first electronic music demos in 2004 and 2007 under the pseudonym Elektroboyz.

In 2013, together with Roid, he founded the electro group DIODES, achieving support in Barcelona and Euskadi. Despite the group's dissolution in its first year, they decided to keep it as a platform to release music, with Vema taking responsibility for it.

In 2014, Vema and The Bandit founded the label "ÚTIL RECORDS", releasing 5 references and organizing parties under the name "BASS LLOBREGAT WARRIOR", bringing the electro scene from the periphery to Barcelona.

Later, he established the label "GENTE SERIA VISTE CHANDAL" together with Dark Vektor, Korrupter Brothers, MMs and The Bandit.

In 2024, Vema launched his own label "DIALECTO PERIFERICO", with 2 references on vinyl, after previously having been a radio program with Unaikox.

He also co-founded "KNY ELECTRONICA" with Ramone RKM, a collective that promotes electronic music through events and music production courses in Cornella de Llobregat

In addition, since 2014, Vema has taught music production and mixing courses, establishing his own academy

"ART TECHNIK" in Iruña.

His influence extends through his music, being released on various labels such as Fundamental Records (Madrid), Subsonic Device (Munich), Electroclub (Llobregat), Monotone (Miami), Kunda rec, ...

His work has been internationally recognized, being included in radio programs such as White Noise, directed by Dave Clarke.

In addition, he collaborates in projects such as Membrum Abstracta and Encryptica with Cristian Teruel and Darxid (Subsonic Devince), and together with Distizuri he created "ELECTRO UNITY", an annual charity album that raises funds for the movement and NGO "No Name Kitchen".

Strange But Dance Music #194: Vema Diodes

This EP, inspired and recorded from live and studio jam sessions between 2021 and 2024, features modular and analog synthesizers as its cornerstones. These instruments provide a mental groove and psychedelic sounds to the three original tracks. Additionally, Da Productor reinterprets one of the tracks with his signature 4-to-the-floor acid touch.

We are pleased to share our first digital release with you and hope you enjoy it! Stay tuned for more to come this year.

The original tracks were mixed and mastered by Alex from Red Sync Studio, while the remix was handled by Da Productor.

My name is Genis, and I am a passionate musician who has been developing my unique sound for several years. From a young age, I have dedicated myself to mixing and composing, particularly within the realm of electronic music and its subgenres, while also exploring various genres across the musical spectrum.

Throughout my journey, ambient music and its diverse expressions have played a significant role in both my listening and my compositions. My aim is to share a piece of myself through my music, conveying my most personal emotions.

For the production of this live set, I utilized recordings I have gathered over the years, along with post-productions created specifically for this occasion, VST synthesizers, digital audio workstations (DAWs), and a variety of sample recordings. I also incorporated digital controllers into the set.
