After a more than convincing debut on Token with his contribution to 2020's Fuga II compilation, Deniro returns with a 4-part sonic manifesto entitled 'Saola'. With each track name referring to either a highly endangered or extinct wild animal, Deniro offers analog efficiency denoting various ecospheres through minimalist composition. Linear in form yet immersive in effect, Saola guides the listener from lucity into spacious abyss.

Initiating the EP with the title track, 'Saola' confronts with what can almost be perceived as a hastily played piano. The A1 provides nail-biting dissonance to kick things off with hypnotic delay, gripping the listener until the very end with consistent progression through a simplistic albeit powerful percussion line. Deniro then picks up the pace and shines things up with a brightly stabbed synth and 16th hats to roll us through the highly efficacious followup, 'Vaquita'.
Even more explosive than its predecessor, Deniro uses 'Vaquita' to show tense restraint in his arrangement that's complemented by his pressing lead sequence.

The record is then flipped to reveal a B side that takes off as soon as the needle hits the wax. 'Gharial' begins explosively full-on, throwing the listener into a vicious pursuit soundtracked by a fleetingly polyrhythmic arpeggio. The energy is underlined by rolling snares and toms to expand the width of the EP before arriving into the final excursion through the record's most introspective piece. High pitched plucks like stars brush along a song that inspires discovery. Whirlpooling white-noise in the far stereo field gives deep ambience to 'Baiji', offering an ethereal conclusion to an suspenseful adventure.

Sublunar, the label curated by Sciahri, is pleased to present the last part of the Corpora trilogy.

Part three opens with Oscar Mulero, the legendary Spanish artist who certainly needs no introduction, owner of Warmp Up and Pole Group, with the track “Water”.

Adriana Lopez, the South American techno queen based in Spain, founder of the Gray Report label, also known for her releases on Stroboscopic Artefacts, Modularz contributes with “Nudo”.

She follows Kangding Ray, owner of Ara, one of the most influential artists of the modern electronic scene and also known as the one-half of the Neo Chambers duo alongside Sigha, with the track “Polyglot Blues”.

Finally Desroi, the German artist known for the releases on his Desroi label, affiliated with Avian, Semantica and for the collaborative project with Sciahri released on Non series, Semantica itself and Mord, closes the ep with “In Rites”.

In the digital only version we find Donor, who after having already released the Ep Void
Century in 2018, contributes with the track "Human Code".

This time we add the young producer Tobias Bülter aka Tiefton from Frankfurt am Main to our growing artist list. With his appearance on respected labels such as Faut Section, Hayes Collective, ANAØH or Methodical and his strong focus on modern sound design its not a secret anymore that he is been able to provided some extraordinary, high quality techno. 

Dive into the world of Tiefton with brutal - hard hitting kick drums, wisely arranged drum pattern, hypnotic and grainy synths combined with precise layered percussions. Classic techno sounds meet dystopian space textures to bring you into another cosmic world. 

In charge for the remixes we have two amazing artists. Swedish producer Lakej and Recorded Things well known JLTZ from Italy. Both artists show us their own twist and great skills. Enjoy two accurate designed and intelligently arranged remixes that are meant to melt your brains.

Following its 2022 debut with two EPs, Synthetik Sounds returns in the new year with an explosive new offering from Los Angeles-area stalwart Annika Wolfe in the form of her Saudade EP.

With Ecilo at the A&R helm, as well as two of Los Angeles’s most revered underground brands, 6AM and Synthetik Minds, spearheading its mission, Synthetik Sounds is now an established home for techno artists whose sound remains true to the ethos of underground techno.

The imprint’s first two outings, Protech The Skyline by Ecilo and Rooted In Reality by Stephen Disario, clearly underscored the intention of the label: to provide a platform for artists whose output leans both on deep, hypnotic techno as well as darker, and harder shades of the genre, while also building bridges between North America, Europe, Asia and beyond.

The EP opens things up with “Things Got Icky,” which sees Annika unleash a barrage of carefully constructed broken beats that pick up the tempo and turn into a real dance-floor stomper. This is electro-meets-techno at its finest, celebrating the sound Annika is being recognized for throughout North America and beyond.

The title-track carries things forward into techno territory, while maintaining the same infectious percussion-heavy characteristics that set the tone with the EP’s opening. The vibe is jacking from beginning to end, the track building in intensity as hypnotic soundscapes take over accompanied by hard-to-discern and yet incredibly sensual vocals permeating through the break-down before things kick back into full throttle. “Saudade” is also offered as a Dub Remix in this package,

Closing out the release is “No Tocar,” catapulting us into darker and early morning hours inside a proper techno warehouse. Here Annika does a brilliant job at delivering a pure techno track that is addictive, groove-ridden and keeps tension levels tightly in check to perfection.
