Darkmode est un partisan de la musique techno rythmée depuis près d'une décennie. 
S'étant fait un nom sur la scène techno, ses premières productions musicales ont attiré l'attention d'Andrew Weatherall, Radioactive Man, Regis et DJ Bone, après sa sortie initiale "The DATA EP" sur Testin Out Records.

Darkmode s'est rapidement fait un nom au fil des ans en tant que DJ, devenant le premier choix du Pick N' Mix de DJ MAG en 2006, et il a été finaliste dans la Raw Talent Selection d'IDJ Magazine en mars 2007 et décembre 2009.

Il a joué dans de nombreuses soirées, raves et festivals à travers le Royaume-Uni et l'Irlande au fil des ans, agissant comme un soutien solide pour des artistes tels que Radioactive Man, Ben Long, Phil Kieran, Marco Bailey, Ignition Technician, Bas Mooy, DJ 3000, Scan 7 et Dave Clarke.

Ses sorties musicales et son propre label, Biotech Recordings, continuent de lui apporter un soutien considérable.

NWHR - Conscious Refecltion Ep [Newrhythmic Recs]

Luis Rozalén ha estado en la música electrónica desde casi siempre, fue en 1981 con 11 años cuando un 7" de Depeche Mode llegó a sus manos y ese hecho fue fundamental en lo que iba a suceder a continuación. Pasó su adolescencia en un entorno rodeado de música. En algún momento recibió un kit de batería como regalo de Navidad cuando tenía 15 años y comenzó a tocar en varias bandas y proyectos hasta que descubrió el poder de las cajas de ritmos y los sintetizadores a la edad de 17 años.

Su primera producción electrónica llegó en forma de synth pop, más tarde se convirtió en EBM y sonidos industriales a finales de los años ochenta y, después de un viaje a Londres en 1990, descubre en tiempo real los fenómenos acid house y rave. Esos fueron los días en que algunos chicos de Sheffield iniciaron Warp Records e inmediatamente sus oídos cambiaron a IDM y el techno de Detroit a través de las compilaciones de Biorythm y Retrotechno.

A mediados de los noventa ya se encuentra completamente en lo que ahora llamamos techno, lanzando su primer tema como Hd Substance en el sello Geométrik Records, propiedad de Esplendor Geometrico en 1995. En 1996 su primer álbum 'Eleven' vio la luz en otro sello de culto, Stereophonic Elephant Dance Recordings, así como varios Ep en vinilo, como el segundo álbum en 1998 llamado 'Cancer Pop'.

Para ese entonces era un habitual en todos los festivales locales como Sonar, Benicassim o Festimad compartiendo esta gira con una residencia en el Soma Experimental Club de 1996 a 2000. Mientras tanto, estudió periodismo en la Universidad y en 1993 fundó la primera revista española especializada en música electrónica: 'Undersounds'.

El nuevo siglo comienza con su proyecto Atlas Records, donde forma equipo con otro productor lanzando 10 discos que pronto se pusieron en manos de los DJ’s más destacados de la escena. La historia terminó abruptamente, los malos socios mataron el ambiente y el distribuidor principal se derrumba.

Desencantado de cómo evolucionan las cosas en la industria musical, comienza a explorar el lado digital, lanzando cuatro álbumes completos en varias plataformas de netlabel como Miga Records, desapareciendo de los medios principales, cavando en el subsuelo y centrándose en su residencia ocasional en el Cassette Club en Madrid.

En 2009 resurge con otro álbum completo llamado 'Hardware', el disco llegó de alguna manera a una tienda de discos de Detroit y el LP entra en las manos adecuadas, dando como resultado su primer concierto en el club de la ciudad del motor The Works en 2010, convirtiéndose desde entonces en un habitual allí, tocando en vivo en 2012 en el Movement Festival con su proyecto Distric 909 junto a la leyenda de Detroit Tim Baker.

Nunca es demasiado tarde, y en sus 40 años comenzó a viajar por el mundo con regularidad actuando en Alemania, China, Corea, Francia, Suecia, Finlandia, Rusia y en 2015, llegando finalmente a los mejores clubes del mundo, como Berghain y Tresor.

En 2018 marca su aniversario de 30 años en la música electrónica y sigue tocando techno en todo el mundo, lanzando este de manera constante, enseñando en The Bass Valley, escribiendo para Beatburguer.com, Clubbingspain.com, Pole Group, Detroit Underground o Falling Ethics, y lanzando techno de otras personas en su propia etiqueta SUBtl.
