Welcome to Dark Sessions. In our fourteenth episode we present a special guest from Stuttgart, Germany. This is Thomas Colin. He is a DJ / Producer. Passionate about electronic music, which does not like to sort out it into genres, and resident of the Schimmer Records label. He is a producer on the rising wave of European Groove, renowned for his atmospheric melody sounds, surrounding sub-basses and his consistent groove. Enjoy it.

this was recorded inside the club with a stereo mic recorder. The recording is at times a bit distorted and at times decent enough... but does capture the momentum of the mix and the atmosphere of the room especially the thunderous Berghain sound system

BTS Podcast 110 - Piotr Figiel  [hardware based live act]

Piotr Figiel is a music producer, live act performer and dj from Krakow (Poland). Formely known for DCM and Peter Feegle projects, since 2014 Piotr performs under his own name, focusing his work mostly on techno, IDM and playing hardware based live acts. His music always has been an eclectic mixture of different influences, original sound design and great sound. Piotr’s work has been released on many Polish and international labels from which the EPs at Induxtriall Records and Parabola Records are the most recent. Among many dj and live act club gigs, Piotr also performed at Street Art Festival, Ars Cameralis Festival,  Tauron Nowa Muzyka and legendary polish Instytut Festival. For last 4 years Piotr has been hosting „Essentia Electronica” radio show at Off Radio Krakow station. The show became one of the most important promotion hubs for the local electronic music scene, artists, collectives and clubs in Krakow. Apart from the solo music activity, Piotr teams up with Dominik Gawroński, creating Krakowitz - nostalgic, synthesizer-based, melodic music project. Piotr also works as a producer, mixing and mastering engineer, helping many artists to achieve the dreamed sound of their records.

BIO:
Hemka is one of the most promising djs and producers in the boiling Parisian scene. Her skills behind the decks got her sharing the stage with figures of the international Techno circuit such as Len Faki, Kobosil, Henning Baer, Lewis Fautzi, to name a few. She always impresses with the quality of her selection with a huge focus on the 90’s sonorities while keeping an eye on modern textures. Her techno is rhythmical, psychedelic and drummy, while the emotional element is ever-present. After many residencies in Paris, Hemka is now resident of Exil (parisian crew) alongside SHDW & Obscure Shape and Remco Beekwilder helping the crew rising up through Europe. She’s
playing all over France and Europe with or without her crew and her name is now spreading since she’s played in Russia. On the production side, Hemka delivers material where the sound of synthesizers is a key component. After several releases and remixes, she joined dutch label « FLOAT Records » in 2017 alongside TWR72, Tensal, PEARL and Sleeparchive with an outstanding release called « the Mystery of the black flamingo » with which she got herself her nice review on Resident Advisor and gigs in mythic clubs like Tresor and Rex Club.
In 2018, her talent got noticed by Tripeo (Darko Esser) who’s offered her a space on his purist imprint « BALANS». Indeed, she released a first EP called « 707 Collision » including remixes of Tripeo himself and a second EP called « Familiar » with 4 brand new tracks that have been played at Awakenings this year. Meanwhile, Tripeo and Hemka have built a true friendship that is driving them to a very awaited collaboration « Tripka » and have also played their first set together all night long last summer at Glazart, Paris. Furthermore, Darko keeps trusting Hemka by offering her a new slot in 2019 on BALANS with, this time, an upcoming Album of 10 tracks.
Things keep moving for Hemka since she’s got contacted by Radio Slave and will make soon her debut on his brilliant label REKIDS.

The Berlin-based duo dotwav looks back upon several life events with mixed feelings. No matter how terrible things appear to us, it is worth recognising the beauty precisely in these moments. In 2014, Paul and Tim formed dotwav so as to combine their energies and diverse experiences. Their music is an invigorating bundle of thoughts in a world of pain. It creates a tolerant place for trust that brings light into darkness. The duo founded the label KONFLKT in 2015 to release techno music in different shapes.

Today's podcast means more to us than just inviting an artist. It represents a connection and the mutual respect between two organizations and the people around it. This episode is delivered by a resident of the infamous Orphic crew: Tromp.

Over the years, Tromp has managed to develop his own sound. His balanced record choice in combination with smooth and layered transitions are the most characteristic of this. In addition, he manages to maintain control which causes a very strong and round dynamic. His passion, for both being a DJ and a huge lover of the dance floor, is truly remarkable and can be heard in SALON 004.

As an organisation we have a deep connection with the people of Orphic. Besides the fact that we help and support each other as an organisation, we’re also part of their beautiful community. The way they manage to translate their character and vision to the dance floor is pure magic and amazes us every time. Every rave of theirs has its own but very sincere vibe.
