🕯 The second guest on Unmasked Theoria, our new interview series focused on vinyl labels, is Lee Adams, founder of Khemia Records, Kaos London events and a long-time friend of ours at Unmasked. 🕯

Talking about music in the current situation feels difficult and strange at times, but it´s after an interview like this that one realises how resourceful music people are, and how life inspires creativity in our world, no matter what. 🌹

2021 marks the 5th anniversary of Khemia and the 18th of Kaos, and it felt just like the right time to have a chat with their founder, Lee Adams and talk about the past and the future of his projects.

Together with the interview that came out yesterday, Lupus, another great friend of both ours and Kaos, has prepared for us a mix made just of tracks released on Khemia. In this journey you will find a taster of the eclectic spectrum of sounds that make Khemia Records one of our favourite London labels.

Kareem, Founder of Zhark Recordings Berlin, has been presenting heavy armoured track material since the year 96 challenging the auditory, pushing them deep into the abyss.
His definition of the Zharkesthetic lies in conveying a claustrophobic state > an atmosphere of threatening sound architecture constantly challenging the innocuous conventions of the electronic DANCE MEDIUM.

His portfolio ranges from dozens of vinyl releases on Zhark, to release collaborations with industrial techno producers such as Ancient Methods or Dave Foster aka HUREN. 
Kareem has furthermore contributed to projects such as Amélie Ravalec`s Techno Documentary Paris/Berlin 20 years of underground Techno, Perc`s 10 year anniversary compilation or Boomkat`s Connor Thomas conceptional vinyl series The Death of Rave. 

Kareem has played major venue such as Berghain, Tresor or Katharis (Amsterdam) and has been transmitting his dark vision of Techno both as a DJ and in intense long enduring Live Set sessions.

Welcome to the 53th session of Blocaus podcast.   
We receive as guest : Alessandro Adriani

Alessandro is the head of Mannequin Records and the resident dj / curator of the bi-monthly Mannequin Records nacht at Berghain/Panorama Bar. Since moving to Berlin in 2013, he introduced an array of obscure techno, electro, ebm, minimal synth, post-punk and experimental records through his own imprint. His music production is deeply influenced by the use of analog equipment from the 70's and the 80's. His recording studio, based in Berlin, is filled with some of the most amazing synthesizers, drum machines and outboard produced during that period. His dj and production skills brought him to work with music institutions like Berghain, Tresor, Redbull Music Academy, Resident Advisor, Boiler Room, Atonal Festival and so on. In 2019 he started a music collaboration with the electro producer The Hacker as 'Amato & Adriani', followed by a release and an extensive tour around Europe. Aside from his work in releasing forgotten gems and up to the minute synth incantations, Alessandro Adriani has also been quietly issuing out his own music for labels like Mannequin, Stroboscopic Artefacts, Pinkman and Jealous God.
