Originally from Toronto, Canada, Mary Velo got involved in music at an early age. It wasn’t till the 80’s where she discovered Depeche Mode and got attracted to deep & moody sounds. In 2007, Mary Velo moved to Berlin where she got strongly influenced in the Deep House & Techno scene.
With a creditable discography which includes releases on labels such as Frozen Border, Semantica, Gynoid Audio & Diffuse Reality, Mary has proven that hard work gets you somewhere.
Mary Velo’s releases have gotten rave reviews from sites & magazines such as Resident Advisor, Groove, Fabric, FACT, Little White Earbuds, De:Bug, Juno, & Boomkat. Her tracks have also been played & charted by Silent Servant, Function, James Ruskin, Ben Sims, Rebekah, Brendon Moeller, Edit Select, Dominik Eulberg, Toby Tobias & ROD, which has brought Mary to the list of upcoming techno talents. SLV’s ‘Berlin. A Portrait In Music’ album on Soma receives a string of remixes from Setaoc Mass, Stanislav Tolkachev, Conforce, as well as a VIP mix from SLV himself. Hailing from Berlin, SLV is well respected for his melancholic sound design and crystalline soundscapes having released on labels like Ilario Alicante’s Virgo and Slam’s Soma. Following the release of SLV’s ambient ‘Berlin. A Portrait In Music’ album, Slam’s iconic label has invited a powerful selection of techno producers to reimagine a handful of tracks; Figure, Clergy and Work Them Records producer Setaoc Mass; Ukraine’s master of mind-bending techno, Stanislav Tolkachev; and also Delsin regular Conforce. ‘Dust’ by SK_Eleven founder Setaoc Mass brings melodic flare with enveloping synths above dark rumbling lows, before SLV’s injects some energy into ‘Talking With The Shadows’ with his own Rave Mix. incorporating moody tones and slow flowing arps with dark cavernous reverb. Krill and Mord artist Stanislav Tolkachev then offers a steady beat with euphoric chimes and vinyl hiss for his stripped back ‘First Day In The City’, preceding Dutch artist Conforce’s ‘Forest Voices’ which balances unearthly sound design and a steppy drum pattern.

They brought healing intention through meditative noises and peaceful pieces into a collective consciousness of transcendence.

All income of this compilation will be donated to the indigenous foundation 'Nación Wayuu' ', which supports their community Wayuu of northern Colombia to defend their human rights being constantly in danger through the multinational coal mine “El Cerrejon”. Besides the services of accompaniment and legal advice for the defense of their community and human rights. They are supporting the community in these times with food and hygienic supplies.
