This is the story of Radioactive Sandwich. There was once two slices of moldy bread separated at birth named Slice 1 and Slice 2. Throughout their lives each would get in trouble in their wastelands of drippy sandwich shops during recess. At one point they happened to be in a deli at the same time when a roast beef panini melted the place down. Somehow each survived but only be being permanently cheesed together. They found love in making delectable psychedelic dub music together and became known as Radioactive Sandwich. Now Slice 1 and Slice 2 go around serving up melty stringy oozy delightfully delicious samplings of dubby sandwiches for the hungry appetites of grumbly tummies everywhere. Our stomachs are thanking us for the 2 platters of audio being served to us at Fractalfest. Put on your bibs, this is gonna get messy.

An early and enthusiastic adopter of the mixed tape, Maggie has always loved sharing good music (and audio odysseys) with her friends. Through DJing, she’s also captured the ears of conscious partygoers, as well as downtempo and trip-hop music fans all over the globe who find her on Facebook, Soundcloud and other sites.

Initiated to the decks by her beloved Moontribe community in 2005, Maggie has gone on to play events for other cool crews like Green Sector, Tropical and the Do Lab. This collection of atmospheric deepstep tracks is further along on the continuum of the Subtextures compilation that I put together for Interchill Records back in 2016. It took a few years to assemble and was made for the digital artist Android Jones (www.androidjones.com) who generously let us use a piece of his phenomenal art for the Subtextures cover design.

SOMEWHERE OUT THERE

Summertime pool parties - one of my favorite settings for playing music. This set was recorded at the tail end of one such party in 2018. The music had been more energetic all day and I started playing as the sun was setting, while the host started up the fire pit and the last of the revelers gathered around, not quite ready to head home yet. Gentle beats with a little more emotion.
