Tripod originated in the wondrous streets of East Boston through the nonprofit organization ZUMIX. Friends for years, each member originally excelled in different instruments and performed with other bands and acts. Often getting together to casually (and jokingly) cover and compose songs, a special request was made of them: ZUMIX’s director and co-founder, Madeleine, wanted them to get their act together for one night and play as a real band for her birthday celebration. Initially hesitant, they found comfort in hiding their true potential behind slapstick songs about Chinese Food restaurants and their oh-so-popular shtick - which consisted of several roadies and numerous stage antics. However, after growing tired of being known as “that funny band”, Tripod decided to take the reigns of their fate and step it up a notch. No longer a comedy rock trio, these boys - nay, these men - have stepped into the shoes of a real musical renaissance. They do not disown their past. Quite the contrary, they embrace it and acknowledge that it has helped pave the way for the future that is to come. Look for Tripod performing shows at venues in the greater Boston area.

Just a couple of friends pressured to join forces and make some worthwhile music that this sad world is desperately in need of.
