I finally managed to get a peek round Patrick Gwynne's Homewood. As a fanboy of modernism, design and architecture, i've been lusting after this one for a while. If you ever get the chance - take it.

It...Truly... Is.... breathtaking, such an inspirational space, in the most idyllic setting. 

The Homewood is a monument to forward facing bravery. The young Patrick Gwynne demolished the existing victorian house to build a new home for his family - at a time when the milk was still delivered by horse and cart. 

Thanks to the National Trust, his home has avoided falling into disrepair The grounds and interior are preserved in the way that patrick would have wanted. 

I've been messing around with this one for a while - inspired by the man himself - but after spending time at his home and place of work i decided to just get it down as a sketch

Bit rough round the edges, but you get the idea.

The Architect - a demo -

Here's an oldie that came together pretty quickly. It started with a walk through the stunning Ashridge Estate in Hertfordshire - There's nothing like the combination of ancient trees and low sunlight to spark a creative muse.

I keep intending to revisit it but i'm not sure what i'd change. 3 guitar tracks in 3 takes, it's not the perfect performance, but there's something gnarled and knotty about it that reminds me of the forest.

We been treated to some stunning skies this last week, which have really perked up my evening commute. I've had this 2 bar riff going round my head for a while, and i finally got half hour this afternoon to get it down. I have plans to build this into something pretty widescreen, but for now, i think i captured the basic intention.
