In a boost of rock 'n' roll creativity, these 5 long time friends and rock addicts decided to join forces in the hot, sexy summer of 2010. Thus began the story of Lost Souls Carnival, a band with one single mission: to create solid rock music with a sensual vibe and a tiny gloomy edge. To enjoy the music, just start shaking your ass!

Tired of Talks

Life is like a child’s frock: always dirty and way too short. This sally sententiously summarizes the gents of Lost Souls Carnival’s philosophy. Their slow, gloomy rock has a greasy edge, ideal for a noisy and smoky party at which the whisky flask is jovially passed on. The lyrics are interspersed with black humour and the search for interesting rhythms and harmonies demonstrates a firm rebellion against inappropriate happiness as well as resigned melancholy. Songs like ‘Lazy Eye’ can easily be played on a muggy summer eve, arm out of the window, cruising to the horizon, and appreciating life with a gentle head bang. During other songs, e.g. ‘Tired of Talks’ – appropriate title by the way – one can only silently stare in front of him, musingly taking a pull at his glass.

Lost Souls Carnival are a bunch a friends from Ghent, each with their musical past and inspirations. The full / foul guitar sound reminds of bands like Graveyard or The Black Keys, the wilful rhythms and atmosphere of Pink Floyd and Tool. The melancholic harmonica shows ‘delta-blues’-influences from the Mississippi at the end of the 60’s. Ultimately add a voice uncannily resembling Jim Morrison and Glenn Danzig’s adulterate child, and one knows that we are dealing with a tight cocktail, without the watery ice or fruit juice.
