Southern Island (南の島)

Keith Emerson has been an inspiration to me in so many ways...this is simply an homage to him and his musical genius. I wasn't about to tackle the entire 18 min piece, so this is my abbreviated, slightly electronic hybrid version of this intense work, originally released on Emerson, Lake & Palmer's 1977 album, 'Works Vol. 1'. I've worked on this off and on for the last 6 months.

The original piece was performed with the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

I use a Behringer Crave, a TD3 and two Korg Volca Sample and Keys to create this song. One of my favorite tricks is to use the CV output of the TD3 to control the filter of the Crave. CV stands for control voltage, and it is a way of sending signals between different devices. It allows me to change the sound of the Crave with the TD3
