So,

I present to myself a mix from my first major project, collecting house music.

This first set is a mix of house music which I have become obsessed with in the past 3 months. This mix of Chicago house, deep soulful house and a little bit Afro house is presented because I think it is a bit nostalgic for me, and kind of shows my maturity into a more comfortable place. 

Growing up I would wake up to my parents playing house music, soul, disco and a lot of funk. So naturally I have grew up dancing and surrounded by soul. Thus, this mix is more or less a celebration of that little kid who danced all the time, something which I have suppressed for a long time. Due to the way I grew up, this soulful house music means the world to me and I want to it to be a massive part of my life (hence this mix).  

I hope to release very causal mixes for years as a sort of time capsule of my obsession with music and its cultures. Furthermore, I want to release these mixes as a sort of diary, so that I can look back on and see how I have developed as a person. 

Although I am putting these mixes out primarily as a time capsule for a future me, I hope whoever else listens to them sees enjoys it and sees bits of me within them (even if it’s the shit transitions that you hear at the start of this lol).

I also hope future me doesn’t cringe at the mixing to much, Ik the first transitions are shit but I wanted to show my starting point.

#1-Chicago house, Deep house (soulful), Afro house

Hi,

Here is a second mix of my house music collection and thus my second edition to my first project.

I am starting to find myself in this sound, making it my own. Both Chicago house and the deep, soulful house sounds are very much what I would describe as my sound, as it is simply my favourite in terms of sound and culture.

The mixing in this edition feels much better, and I am getting more and more comfortable with different techniques and transitions. Furthermore, I am growing excited as I am getting close to having my full collection on my USB, meaning that I can practice mixing with my full collection of these subgenres and others. 

Although I will not be able to post mixes for a while due to lack of funds for upgrading my subscriptions in order to allow more uploads, I would like to practice other subgenres/sounds that I enjoy so that I can document mixes with those subgenres too.
