To celebrate my birthday here’s an exclusive @chimpizm jungle dub of VV Brown ‘Feel So Alive.’ 

I think it’s important I add some words to this track.

I discovered VV Brown recently and I was blown away by her new album ‘Am I British Yet’. 

The first track I heard from the album was ‘Feel so Alive’ which is so unbelievably powerful, fusing VV’s spoken words with a rousing chorus. Please listen carefully to the words - they are truly special. 

I know this album is so deeply personal for VV, so I’m humbly dropping a jungle dub of ‘Feel So Alive’ conscious of staying true to the original track’s feelings and emotions. 

My aim was to give the words the space they deserve whilst still bringing some mischievous Chimpizm vibes. 

I’m extremely conscious of being a white dude making an edit of a track which will mean so much to Black British people in particular, so I just want to say that I hope I’ve made an edit that’s respectful to the original. 

The Black Lives Matter movement was a very meaningful moment in my life, where I took time to educate myself properly on race, racism and how to become an ally in the fight for equality and equity. 

I deeply understand how much I am influenced by music made by Black artists and musicians, so I just want to put on record how grateful I am to have music of Black origin in my life. 🙏

From my early years discovering electro, hip hop and reggae to finding a home in the garage, house and jungle scene, and now remixing everything from Afrobeats to Black British Punk, I owe so much of my love of music to Black artists, DJ’s, producers and musicians .
