Challenge 2 - Traveling To New Familiar Places

The title speaks by itself because this beautiful experience captures a lot of sonic textures I resonated with this summer and far beyond that. 

For those who don’t know my story and the character called Louis-David ; since early 2021, I walk around where my heart calls me capturing all the sound I can with a Tascam DR-05X. I have now over 704 recordings lasting from 3 seconds to 55min03. 

What I wanted to explore in that journey of sounds was to merge with layers many different textures to create one freshly unique and flowing experience that truly resonates in the heart while bringing you somewhere new.

For the samples I used, this would take some kind  of a breakout session (dare to ask and receive).
Don’t worry, I’ll give you something right here right now.

To sum it up, the field recording ; It starts with duck sounds on the beach with family, a nice crust from creating a very pleasant avalanche of gravel walking barefoot on top of a small human created mountain, some thunder, myself taking a shower-bath layered with the same one doing the dishes and cleaning up, nice birds by the river, kayak trip, that famous crying bird that sounds like he’s being murdered, some skateboarding, pool party in the hood, some vibrant conversations from the genius and visionary series call undone.
All the other sounds are from either my voice, BBC orchestra, BBc labs, Surge and my dear Korg Krome Workstation.
