Next Snippets Music’s release is long-awaited album «Blue Moon View From Small Window» from Gennadiy Manzhos — one of the main artist for Russian electronic scene. Gennadiy is musician from Nizhny Novgorod who previously released music on X-Kalay, Eudemonia, Nerang Recordings, Private Persons, Luck Of Access and many more great labels. 

For «Blue Moon View From Small Window» Snippets Music chose five tracks from Low Tape’s archive and five more by his own project Electronic Sound Signals From Sherbinki to share all sides of Gennadiy's talent.

Manchester producer Bobby Ganoush gets his hands on New Order’s greatest hits. The result: two club-ready reworks you didn’t know you needed, until now. 

Taking on two tracks from one of the most critically acclaimed and influential bands of the 1980s is no easy feat. But, with over 30 years experience in the dance music industry, Bobby Ganoush delivers a pair of punchy, high octane tracks; both of which have been tackled with the utmost respect, handled with an attentive ear and never lose the essence of the seminal originals. 

With a musical history producing under a number of different monikers, previously remixing The Clash and Bob Marley, whilst engineering and mastering tracks for a range of artists, Bobby Ganoush is no stranger to the needs of a dancefloor, something which is reiterated with this release. 

His take on ‘True Faith’ doesn’t stray too far away from the quintessential eighties sound, beginning with an elongated, synth-heavy instrumental intro, we’re then introduced to Bernard Sumner’s instantly recognisable voice as the track begins to peak. This rework uses the best bits of the Shep Pettibone vocal and dub mixes, alongside explosive percussion and a reinforced bottom end to give it more weight, whilst using just three verses. This setup undoubtedly lends itself more to a club - with a steady pace and a warmth of familiarity, this track will ensure a hands-in-the-air moment on many a night out.

Bobby Ganoush’s rework of New Order’s biggest track is of a similar considerate vein. Opening with extended elements from Kraftwerk’s ‘Uranium’ (which was originally sampled for ‘Blue Monday’) alongside Kraftwerk’s ‘Numbers’, he adds even more substance before blazing into the fundamental ingredients of the original, iconic track. The unmistakable “How does it feel?” echos as tumbling drums and broken beats take the lead, before it’s ignited again with signature synths. With Bobby Ganoush's deep rooted association with Manchester's dance scene, it’s no surprise he’s taken a standout approach to reimagining one of the Hacienda's most iconic records.

From the whipcrack bass pressure of ‘Internal Revelation’ and the sensual trance of ‘Surface Dive’ to the aqueous and narcotic take on UK techno found in ‘Cellular Matrix’ and ‘Tracheal Impulse’ he finds himself in a singular space, setting up a strong and unique foundation from where there’s no telling what he’ll come up with next.

417th January, 20019. Szabi just arrived home from his 240 hour flight from X. He was lying in bed for a couple of days, too lazy to dress, talk or feel terrible. Also, he realized something weird. As if his presence was only physical and a crucial part of him was missing. As if his consciousness was being faked and his real self was stuck back there, in that strange underwater galaxy. He still felt that cold, damp sensation on his inner skin, and his mind was trapped in a stream of looping music that felt really alien but desperately familiar at the same time.

Introducing Earth Plates’ second pressing, Gnork’s latest EP, Lost in X. The Budapest based producer takes his signiture sound further, deeper, and more refined. Wonder how that would sound like? Imagine underwater infused with outer space, chunky electro beats with dusty organs, dark wharehouse vibes with soul wrenching satellite bleeps, 707 drums with cheesy synth solos. We at Bolting Bits keenly anticipate every release from X-Kalay, a label outputting varied strands of house, techno, breakbeat sounds, electro and more. Recurring themes of music from the London label are gritty drums and acid-or-almost-acid textures, wrapped up in energetic dance floor material suitable for 1-3am peak-time club nights. So we’re unsurprised, in the best possible way, about their latest release.

Today we’re premiering Rest Assured, the B1 track from LT’s debut EP on label. The three track record certainly has a particular sound, an original style. All three tracks flow smoothly between sections of almost only drums and bass into long stretches of uplifting and brighter pads and chords. The result is that sweet spot between change and continuity.

Rest Assured is the slowest and our favourite of the three tracks. Heavy breakbeat rhythms pop up sporadically throughout the song, sometimes intersecting with long, drawn out pads. Electricsounding percussion is another nice feature. If that’s hard to picture, that’s because it’s hard to describe. Let’s go with something like high-pitched tom drums if they spoke robot? The safest bet is to check it out for yourself.

The A1 track, Sputnik (B.S.S.), on the other hand, is faster and more energetic. There’s a similar dynamic between breakbeats and pads, but the vibe is, unmistakably, designed for a warmed-up dance floor. B2 and the title track of the EP, Staminize, sits somewhere between the other two. It’s powerful without being forceful or abrasive and could feasibly be weaved into a set in the first or latter half of a night.

Staminize drops today, January 14. So, especially you crate diggers, do yourselves a favour and get on this one early.
