Berlin-based producer and DJ FloFliz is a standout artist in today's instrumental scene. His successful releases allowed him to garner 75M of streams across platforms and and pass significant milestones such as delivering a set on Boiler Room and Mellotron. As a lover of musical gentleness, his remix of Pedro Mizutani's 'Chuva De Verão,' is an organic composition featuring catchy flute and piano notes with a sweet hip-hop dimension, a pure delight for the ears.

"Astéroïde" is a remix of the eponymous track composed by Joël Fajerman released in 1978. Embracing the trends of 70s Spacey Cosmic and Sci-Fi Disco, Joël is a French composer and keyboardist known for his illustrative and futuristic electronic music that accompanied numerous TV productions of the 70s and 80s. His expertise and passion for synthesizers led him to contribute as a programmer in Parisian recording studios on many albums. Matoux and Teuteu offer a new version more than 40 years after its release, with an approach centered around Deep House and Jazz. Drawing inspiration from the sounds of French productions, the two producers breathe new life into this track by adding their own touches through their samplers, synthetic textures, and jazz chords

Hiding slightly out of plain sight, Australian producer Mood J has been secretly crafting lush house jams for the last half decade bubbling just under the visible surface.

With the artist and Asquith having briefly touched base at the beginning of the label's journey, it took only a chance encounter in a Ballarat bungalow in 2016 to reignite the flames of the artist-label relationship. Jimmy surprisingly bumping into Jon (Mood J), as he was Daze's housemate in Aus, whilst the Lobster crew were on tour there.

Mood J's hard drive was stashed with archive of warm, sizzling, analogue studio tracks cooked to the nines, and so here we are just over 14 months later with the full epic debut in hand.

The edits-y anthem Turn Your Love Around kicks things off in huge fashion with a stomping & heaving flip of a proper classic. Arrangement never felt so tight and this one rides heftily into the night. NY Vibration follows, smoothing things out with a lolloping New York house twist layered with rippling, resonant deep haus pads, searing top lines and an easy spoken word. 

The flip kicks off with The Arps, a skittering hat skater with an ascending, descending and cascading arp line that hisses with sea spray and hot evenings in central Victoria. 

Providing the last hurrah of the night we have Moonlight Drive. Summer heartbreak captured in a single moment and a slap bass. A melancholy Juno riding over a hint of twinkling optimism, saying that it's not over yet.

Last year Julien ‘Redeyes’ Salvi showed off his versatility on his Blueprints EP. He now takes it one step further with the release of “Broken Soul”, his first full length project for The North Quarter. Through twelve sincere tracks, the Toulouse-based artist showcases an action-packed storyline co-starring some of the most sought-after vocalists in the game. Not only do Manchester legends DRS and Tyler Daley make appearances, but there are also features by fresh NQ signee Abnormal Sleepz, HMD, KinKai and Juga-Naut as well as NY underground Hip Hop phenomenon Milano Constantine. Rap, Soul and dusty Jazz flavour is woven through diverse tracks in both tempo and intensity. The Redeyes signature shines bright however, effortlessly capturing current aesthetics and eclecticism. This album shows a veteran artist comfortable in his craft and is not just at home on Lenzman's imprint, it possibly signifies the quintessence of The North Quarter philosophy.

Ltd, W/Lbl is a label based out Berlin that specializes in sophisticated, Classical, Jazz and Ethnic oriented electronic music. Since 2017 they have been putting out two vinyl series - one that features re-issues from previously released tracks and another that showcases all newly released work. Today's post involves the latter and includes an original from up and coming artist Alberto De Santiago, better known as Never Dull.

Based out of Los Angeles, Never Dull has been on the scene for only about a year now but has already released work for labels such as Feedasoul, Dansu Discs, and Hopera Records. In his latest effort titled Cool Jazz Boogie, Never Dull manages to pair sultry Spanish vocals along with a groovy assortment of languid synths and gently plucked guitar strings. In that sense, the title of the song is fairly straightforward in describing the vibe it creates and will certainly play well where ever lounging and relaxation is the prerogative.
