Lovecasts

@maarje_music and the Love Foundation performed for the first time together at Château Perché Festival from our friends from @perchepolis-label in 2019. As part of @eigenklang she mixed her juicy music one night in the middle of our lovely yurt.
For this Lovecast @maaje_music prepared a set for all those, who just woke up from hibernation and slowly want to get in motion.
This smooth downtempo mix was recorded on freezing but sunny days at her homebase "Anwesend" in France and accompanied by Masmeen on the Cello."

Lovecast 99 - Hanni G @THF Radio 24.01.2021

Here we are, Lovecast 100, time to look back at 8 years full of love with the help of some of our global residents, they each contributed 2-3 tracks to this set and take you on a musical journey down the memory lane.... 

1) @marcelpuntheller - Our first Global Resident and personified Globetrotter Marcel, currently based in Mexico, and constant supporter and good mood spreader at LF Events all over the world. Too many gigs for us to keep track, most notable moment might be the 14 Hour Set at our Stage at Distant Grounds Festival in Greece in Summer 2016. 

2) Kotoe aka @kotoek was the Angel that helped us organize the LF Tour in Brasil in January 2018, together with @andrevictor. She became a close friend during this crazy tour and a global resident afterwards. Most notably probably her Gig during Katzensprung Festival 2019, the Festival organisers asked us to put three acts on our stage and Kotoe had to play after @missmelera, which plays around 20bpm faster then her, she managed perfectly of course ;) 

3) Laura aka @lola-villa-musica had her first gig ever in our beloved LF Amsterdam home, the Waterhouse, she became our first Amsterdam Resident together with Sauerkraut and played for us all over the world afterwards. She is currently residing in Mexico, but we hope to welcome her soon in Europe again. Most notable Gig, maybe the closing set of Pilzkiste in Maastricht in 2018, "I bless the rains down in Africa".... 

4) Simeon aka @feinheitsbrei is a LF Dresden resident and an incredible producer that also had several releases on our Label, Hug Records. Most notable Gig was probably Simeon playing on the main Floor of Fluc under a Highway in Vienna, at a party that we organised together with our friends from @downvienna. 

5)Moti aka @funkamel1 was one of the driving force behind LF Tel Aviv and he also happens to be a great DJ. Funkamel has been playing at many of our Israeli parties, including the closing set at the last big party of LF Tel Aviv before the Pandemic began, on 27.02.2020. 

6) @rafiralfiro is a LF Family member since many years and was very involved in the setting up of LF Brussels, his most notable Gig for us was probably at one of the last parties in our beloved Waterhouse, in summer 2016. 

7) @mahfoudmusic is the Artist that has been involved the longest with LF, being one of the main music exports from Maastricht, the birth place of LF, he has played a set at our third party ever, back in 2013 and he had played countless of other sets afterwards for us all over the world. Having been born in Syria, his set for LF Tel Aviv in 2017, is probably the most memorable one though. 

8) If you have been involved with LF for a while, then you know that there was only one possible closer for this podcast, the LF closer himself, Mr. @tantedante So many legendary days and nights were closed by him, but one certainly stands out, the first 48 Hour Party of LF at Mensch Meier, where a planned 2 Hour closing set of Dante ended with a 4 Hour set after 50 hours .... the MM crew loved the set too much to stop it, despite the 48 hours that had passed already. 

This is of course just a small selection, but it is already our longest Lovecast so far, so we can not share all of our residents in one Lovecast unfortunately. We are however deeply thankful to all the artists and volunteers that made it such an incredible journey so far and we look forward to many more unforgettable moments together.

Lovecast 100 - LF Resident Collaboration

The last 2 years were hard for us at Love Foundation, we love gathering our community in person at events and many of those were not possible. However there was also some bright sides and Love Foundation Magdeburg was definitely one of them. 

Deep in eastern Germany there is a new flower in the Love family and it has been blooming intensely with lots of events and activities despite the corona restrictions and with full support from the local politics. 

As a result it was only a matter of time that we get our first Lovecast from Magdeburg and what better one to choose there, then Lovecast 101. For this special number, we chose a special person and one of the earliest supporters of LF Magdeburg, @nawaf_guzman

Next to being a LF Magdeburg resident, he is also regularly seen at Montego Beach Club, Schauwerk Magdeburg and many other cultural events in the city. So lean back and immerse yourself into the beautiful sound journey that he has created for us.

Lovecast 101 - Nawaf Guzmán for Love Foundation Magdeburg

Clubs are unfortunately closed again, but luckily music can still carry us through the winter. The next Lovecast is coming from our newest LF Member LF Magdeburg and from the newcomers from Schall & Rauschen. It is a crisp sound ensemble and plays handmade electronic music, hot off the fire, on synths, midi controllers and guitars. Everything is improvised live and makes the crowd dance along uniquely every time. They also give workshops on digital music production, if you are curious follow them here:

Lovecast 102 - Schall & Rauschen

In 2017 LF build its first stage at the beautiful @distantgrounds Festival in Kalamata, Greece. @laolaelectronica build the other stage and we spend a beautiful August together. Now 5 years later, we want to revive these lovely memories with their first Lovecast for us.

While it looks like the Pandemic is slowly coming to an end, we are still digging some pearls from our memory box. This time it is a recording from @konchord during our 5 years of love party in April 2018 in Maastricht. It was a beautiful event in a historical venue called " Onder de brug" in Maastricht and we still have a big smile on our face when we think back of that day. We hope the set does the same for you.

@sarimusic is a beautiful soul that is currently residing in Zurich and spreading music and love from there. We have been in touch for several years and were able to enjoy her music during one of our parties in Berlin. Today we are happy to share a beautiful sound journey from Myrna aka @madmoiselle_myrna with you. She is a member of our close friends the @wdlnds collective and played for us in Magdeburg last September. Now we are kicking of our musical journey of 2023 with her and we could not have asked for a better set for that <3

Love Foundation Magdeburg is one of the newest members of the LF family, but definitely one of the most active ones at the moment. 

They are putting up lots of great events and surfacing some amazing talent with them.

Today we wanna share some love beats of our dearest @duygu_music with you, a beautiful human being & warm soul that luckily joined the Love Family in Munich in 2021, after she played her first gig for us at a small outdoor festival in the hearts of nature. Even more lucky we are to have such a great artist and booker with us on board ever since. 😍

Her set - recorded straight from the infamous Harry Klein Club in Munich for our lovely friends of @teamturbotunes - is a vibrant homecoming to the sound she first fell in love with - back to her roots, back to her characteristic driving, melodic Techno sound we know & adore her for. 🌿

In our opinion, her music actually describes her personality quite well - this constant, sometimes subtle, sometimes wild drive that makes you wanna run (& dance!) next to her. United by a shared passion for music and a particular fondness for bass, we couldn't have thought of a more fitting duo to invite to the stage of Glacis Open Air 2023 in Magdeburg than @truenaturemusic & @zhart. Our deepest gratitude goes to them for sharing their beats and friendship with us and with open arms we want to welcome them in our love family. ❤️

🎶Can you recall a moment in your life where an act of love deeply moved you?
Being shown that even on bad days, in moments where you don't have much to give yourself, when you are not in your power, you are still supported by your loved ones. When your friends make compromises without hesitation, when they completely put their own happiness on the back burner in order to support you, when they are there for you in every situation as a matter of course, this kind of love is very moving.

🎶Do you believe that love can be communicated without words? If yes, how have you experienced this?
Yes. I feel that Love can be expressed diversely. Sometimes Love can be expressed through a hug, a kiss or a smile - sometimes through gratitude, respect or silence. As there is an endless field of ways of expressing love we all have sweet memories in our hearts about how love has been expressed to us non-verbally and experiencing more of it the more we open up for it.

About four years ago, @sinamin_sound embarked on her Love Family journey in Dresden, sharing her music with us on multiple occasions. Along the way, she started various other musical endeavors, with the @disconnect_podcast collective and most recently with @rebelliondertraumer. However, her paths continually crossed with the Love Foundation; love seems to be an inescapable force in her life! A heartfelt thank you for sharing your music with us! 🫶🏼

🎶How do you express love through your music?
As a DJ, I express love through music by curating songs that resonate deeply with the heart. I carefully select lyrics and melodies that speak to the soul. This 'Love Cast' spans across decades and genres. This mix includes a variety of love songs, some admittedly cheesy, but all celebrating love in its myriad forms – from joyous to melancholic, encompassing both love for others and self-love. My aim is to share these universal emotions of love that make life not just beautiful but thrilling.

🎶What's the most profound lesson about love that you've learned?
Over time, I've learned that love can be shown and felt in many different ways. Misunderstandings arise when love is shown in diverse ways, and that can be tough. I've found generous understanding, humor and light-heartedness to be essential in bridging these gaps, even though this can feel like „work“ sometimes. The key is in active listening and empathy. Love is about adapting to others' needs and their love languages and meeting them halfway. Being loved by everyone isn't necessary (and impossible), but I deeply value the love from the people I've chosen to be in my life and who matter to me.

@OliNeate began weaving his rhythms between South Africa and Europe a few years ago, establishing himself not only as a curator for the Swedish channel House Music With Love (@hmwl), but also as a founder of Deep House South Africa (@deephouse_sa) in 2019. Over the course of his musical journey, he transitioned from the spotlight to the dynamic world behind the scenes, delving into artist and label management, event production, and advocating for the nightlife. His deep-seated love for music and culture underscores a career that is as diverse as his beats, driven by a passion that has taken root in the South African music scene. 🎶🌍

🎶 What is the story of how you joined Love Foundation? 🎧
I was introduced to Love Foundation in 2019 during the Waking Life Festival in Portugal. The collective community and the project's charitable essence deeply resonated with me. I stayed connected with the project for some time, and when the opportune moment arrived, I, along with some incredible individuals from Malmö and Copenhagen, opened a Love Foundation hub in Copenhagen.

🎶 Do you believe that love can be communicated without words? If yes, how have you experienced this? 🎧
Absolutely, love is a language often spoken without words, and I feel it profoundly in the community on the dancefloor. When everyone is present, connected through the music, there's a unique energy that transcends verbal communication. It's in the collective rhythm, the shared movements, and the unspoken understanding between individuals. The dancefloor becomes a space where emotions flow seamlessly, and the language of love is expressed through the universal language of music.

Barbarella delights the music scene with eclectic sets that can't be easily put into any category. Robbe Van Bogaert is the founder of EVENTSURE and he works as
nightlife expert for the city of Antwerp, Belgium. He lives with a
bone structure problem, multiple epiphyseal dysplasia and in his
younger years he had a life in a wheelchair but he found the power to
fight to get out of it, but still use the wheelchair as his bike on
festivals and during travelling the globe 🌐 with the HUMAN POWER
project.

Lovecast 115 - Human Power - A journey of love in the Wild West

✨✨ “Through music, I feel the wildest butterflies in my stomach.” ✨✨

As passionate as her quote you can also imagine our beloved @mmoja_dj, the queen of organic house and colourful, joy-spreading earrings. 🦋 

Her beautiful jewelry stems from the many places (e.g. many countries in Africa) she still travels to and that she could call her temporary homes before she came to Munich, where she joined the love family. #yes

When you watch her in her element behind the decks, you can see the deep sense of fulfillment, joy and focus in her eyes - when she’s in the zone, you will know - because you, as well, get hypnotized by her mixture of compelling rhythms and deep, enchanting melodies that remind you of places you’ve never even visited. 🎶🌍

With her penchant for beat and as a proper crate digger, she already played several gigs within the last 3 years, starting with her first one in Karachi, Pakistan at a secret rave and now delighting the crowds in Bahnwärther Thiel, Minna Thiel and many other places in Munich and Germany.

❤️ How do you express love through music?

Love means to me to be in sync - body, mind and soul. So does dancing. Through DJing I share music and energy with the crowd and hope to help people to get in sync with themselves and through moving with the people around them

❤️ What means love to you in these challenging times? 

Through sharing love in my direct (and not so direct through our work with Love Foundation) surroundings I hope to contribute to some little change and a more peaceful world.

Lovecast 97 - Ræza @THF Radio 24.01.2021

We are a global community of activists and artists that collectively organise events in order to spread the idea of universal love and fundraise money for social projects.

The centerpiece of the Love Foundation is our Love Logo, which is the connecting factor between all members and supporters of the foundation.

The Love Foundation was founded in 2013 by two students from Maastricht University in the Netherlands. It has currently active Hubs in Berlin, Brussels, Cape Town, Copenhagen, Dresden, Hamburg, Maastricht, Magdeburg and Munich.
