Ursari is Us Baby Bear Bones second and last EP. After evolving as a band for four years and following on from their debut EP 'What Starts with a U Ends with an I' in June 2013, UBBB will be separating with some members of the band to later take the form of an entirely new project Psalm Springs. 

Ursari was recorded and produced by front man of Blood Red Shoes, Steven Ansell, whose production style brings a gnarled, twisted and raw sound to the new songs, much different to the previous record.
Love Thy Neighbour will be releasing the EP with a limited run of 100 copies, which will be available exclusively on 16th June via Resident Music & on 23rd June digitally. The three piece played their last show on 19th May in front of a packed crowd in Brighton’s Green Door Store.

Dog In The Snow is the moniker of Brighton-based Helen Ganya Brown, accompanied by friend, musician and visual artist Eva Bowan. The band experiments with existential-driven lyrics and layers of off-kilter sounds to create a peripatetic musical landscape. 

The name ‘Dog In The Snow’ originates from Helen’s interest in Franz Kafka and his existential writings. In one of the only novels with a complete final chapter, ‘The Trial’ ends with the lead character getting stabbed in the heart. As he lies in a cold, snowy and deserted quarry he cries out aloud, "Like a dog!”

Inspired by Sufjan Stevens, The National and Sigur Ros, seen supporting Real Estate, D.D Dumbo and Chrysta Bell, and sharing circles with Fear of Men, Hypnotized, and artists from Anti-Ghost Moon Ray Collective, there’s a lot to look forward to. The band are working with producer Steve Hillier (Gary Numan, Dubstar, Food Records), tipped as one of the exciting artists in Brighton (by Gigwise) and championed by BBC Introducing in the South.

Love Thy Neighbour announce the first physical release for Brighton-based Merlin Tonto with a video for ‘Beat The Sun’, which showcases the band’s fantastic flair for merging the sounds of the contemporary dance floor with decidedly human sounding percussion and bass, as if Carl Craig visited Cologne ’72.

Merlin Tonto are named after an early-80’s brand of personal computer and in keeping with Love Thy Neighbour’s ethos of releasing limited edition, home-made releases, it is therefore fitting that the CD is housed in a 5.25’’ floppy disc. 

Formed in 2013, Merlin Tonto (Owen Thomas (electronics), Miles Boyd (bass) and Steffan Eliades (drums) combine a patient, ever building, subliminal connection in the rhythm section with Owen's virtuoso manipulation of electronics and visual interpretations of the band's otherworldly sounds. It was clear from early performances that this was the genesis of a special band and their brilliance as a live act has seen them support bands as varied as Errors, Disappears, Esben & The Witch and Follakzoid. Their forthcoming EP ‘Baotou’, due out on 27th May 2016 on Love Thy Neighbour, moves things forward significantly, recalling at various times Factory Floor, ESG and Leftfield. It's all done in their idiosyncratic way, the music is never in a hurry to get anywhere, their restraint meaning the joy is as much in the journey as the destination.

Using cello, vocals, orchestral arrangements, choral ensembles, location samples, synths and piano Abi Wade explores human nature through real and abstracted personas on her debut album ‘Beautifully Astray’.

Following a move to Camden, London, the tracks were fleshed out with orchestral arrangements and were recorded in Jay Malhotra and Sam Duckworth’s Amazing Grace studio in Hoxton. These sessions included brass, wind and choral ensembles.

Abi then worked with ‘the patron saints of print’ Eley Kishimoto to create the visuals for the album matching the story of each print and pattern to the story of each song. Their patterns are featured on both the album and single artwork and has been a source of inspiration throughout the making of the album.

‘Beautifully Astray’ was recorded with support from Help Musician’s Emerging Excellence award, and the release with support from PRS for Music Foundation’s Women Make Music.

While developing as an artist, she has has toured the UK & Europe with Patrick Wolf, sold out her debut EP and released music on the label set up by Daniel Copeman of Esben & The Witch and has played shows with the likes of CocoRosie, Polica, Michael Kiwanuka, Other Lives, Deptford Goth and festivals such as End of The Road, The Great Escape and Wilderness.

In collaboration with Brighton-based label Love Thy Neighbour, Mathias and BA wanted to try to help some of their favourite grassroots venues in Canada and the UK stay afloat through the crisis, and this 7” is the result. On The Burning Hell’s side, Mathias distils his coronavirus frustrations with “I Want to Drink in a Bar.” BA Johnston sings about isolation from atop his toilet-paper throne on “Supreme Self-Quarantine” and adds a bonus oldie that nods at The Burning Hell’s side with “I Want to Drink in a Bar Filled with Aliens.”  But as much as we’d all like to see Chewbacca take revenge on a Sublime-singing guy at open mic night, this record hopes that we won’t have to wait until we get to the Mos Eisley cantina to hang out with all of you in bars and venues again.
