Just Music And Me - EP

ebastian (aka lovebirds) met Declan when he put up his old Studer console for sale a few years ago. Since their initial meeting, the multi instrumentalist from Sydney (living in Berlin since 2017) and Lovebirds have enjoyed many productive studio sessions together. Declan McDermott is the full package: guitar, bass, keys, vocals (even drums and percussion) and lovebirds took full advantage of it!

The title track "Mar-A-Lago Sunset Theme" came together within an hour at the very end of a late friday night session. Good things usually happen quickly in the studio as they say!
A lovely mid/late 70s inspired uptempo soul banger with a solid octave bassline, a catchy rhythm guitar hook and a slick fender rhodes lick - think Azymuth meets Patrice Rushen with too much tape delayyyyyyyy

On the flip "Great Ocean Rd" starts off as a fusion americana meets soul jem. With a tinge of acoustic guitar strumming, rhodes, bass and synths. This is followed by a breakdown midsong, which transforms the track into a whole new beast - sexy disco basslines with even more synths and again - too much Roland Space Echo. We just love that shit - who doesn’t? 🤷‍♂️

This is the first release of this new combo - they´ve been hard at work in the studio non stop for weeks on end, so expect more to come in 2023!
