Lovecraft is a groundbreaking electronic ensemble that emerged from the Central Florida underground in the early 1990s. Lovecraft pioneered live electronic music at a time when that meant lugging desktop PCs and rackmount samplers to every gig. Lovecraft is back with new tracks and a much lighter set of gear :)

Lovecraft was an integral part of Central Florida’s early underground music scene . In a musical landscape dominated by studio producers, remixers, and DJs, Lovecraft defied convention by focusing exclusively on live performances. Lovecraft’s sound was a genre-bending mix of techno, breakbeat, and hippie-house, all filtered through their unique psychedelic prism. 

Songs like “Cheshire Cat,” “Drop Out,” and “Through the Ocean” exemplified the group’s distinctive musical approach, and their groundbreaking stage performances featured live instruments, percussion, and vocals seamlessly blended with loops, samples, and programmed drum grooves.

Lovecraft toured Florida extensively, playing at warehouse parties, raves, and at clubs like Beacham Theater, The Edge, Underground, JJ Whisper’s, Marz, and Rebar. When they weren’t on the road, Lovecraft could be found performing in Tampa at their own venue, The Spin Club, supported by many of the scene’s best DJs.

After several years of non-stop songwriting and touring, the band retired from the stage in 1995, leaving an indelible mark on Florida’s legendary club scene. A few bootleg remixes and a fans-only cassette release represent the totality of their recorded output from that era.

Lovecraft returns with new songs and new sounds in 2017. Don't miss the chance to see the godfathers of live electronic music as they perform their new songs alongside fresh remixes of some of their classic 90s tracks.
