This is the first edition of an audio-postcard series which i’m going to release during our journey through Europe.  The idea is to record ambient sounds such as street and metro noise, footsteps, bicycles, construction sites, dogs barking etc..
But also little sounds like, zippers, knobs that close, sneezes, coughs, animals of any size, from cow to fly, from frog to pig.  After I have recorded the sounds I transform them to single instruments and defamiliarize them in such a way that you’ll maybe not recognize the original sound source.
The first audio-postcard comes from Vienna. The sounds I’ve recorded here are closing metro doors and platform signals, barking dogs, a sneeze, a reverse moving bicycle chain, heels clicking on the floor and some indefinable human noises.

Audio-Postcard from Vienna

This is the second edition of an audio-postcard series which i’m going to release during our journey through Europe.  The idea is to record ambient sounds such as street and metro noise, footsteps, bicycles, construction sites, dogs barking etc..

The second audio-postcard comes from Breb. A small Romanian village in the county of Maramureș. The sounds I’ve recorded here are very natural and simple alike life is in beautiful and peaceful Breb. The sound-sources I´ve used for this postcard are crickets, roosters, barking dogs, footsteeps on gravel paths and the screeching noise of a sawmill from afar. Pure idyll.
