The inaugural release for the Love Dose imprint comes fittingly from our own stable of artists. On the heart side of the record is a track by Motif, a production duo based in Manchester. The duo is comprised of David Walker (Wokeye) and Peter Asiaw (Josimar).


David, is quickly becoming a very sought after producer having worked alongside Hot Since 82 and being asked to do remixes for artist such as the fast rising Bipolar Sunshine. Peter, a house DJ with a keen ear for a musical gems that has not gone unnoticed by house brands such as Wolf Music and Millionhands. 



Teaming up under the Motif moniker to provide a classic house cut in Silicon Serenade. A rolling baseline underpins a track with a sumptuous house melody and the breakdown is something to behold. This piece of wax is ready to blow up any dancefloor.



On the drop side of the record is a track from David's solo output under the name of Wokeye. The track Roll the Dice has a sublime Jazzy Techno vibe with a euphoric piano section, tied together with a Charles Bukowski monologue.



Destined for big things these two artists are already making noises having been approached to play at the Warehouse Project  and they are making serious moves on the Manchester House scene.

Cottam first came to wider attention with a series of limited edition 12″s released from 2009 onwards, showcasing his production talents by re-working afro-beat, neo-soul, funk & hip-hop into quirky deep house burners.

2014 saw the realisation of a long held ambition with the launch of his own label, Ruff Draft. The first release came from the man himself and future releases are lined up from LK, Louis Guilleme & Robot84.

We have a musical journey for all you lovers out there. The third chapter of our Heartcast series is from Manchester and Mallorca legend, Andy Proctor aka Stretford Dogs Club.

Behind some of the UKs best underground club nights like Manchester’s stalwart Deep House night Development & the ever so unique I AM parties in Manchester & Liverpool.

A list of DJs that have played with Andy reads like a who’s who of House & Techno, Body & Soul masters Francois K, Danny Krivit and Joe Claussell. US pioneers like MAW’s Kenny Dope Gonzalez, Theo Parrish, DJ Spinna, Ron Trent & Glenn Underground. Techno legends like Deetron, Rolando & Stacey Pullen and right through to German masters like Alexander Barck ( Jazzanova ) , Ame and Dixon.

“Stretford Dogs Club” , a tongue in cheek DJ pseudonym and started to produce online mixes via Soundcloud that quickly took up popularity all around the world, with listeners regularly tuning in from Brazil to Japan.

He started a project to create a 24 hour mix across the year entitled “A Day in a Dogs Life” which gained recognition and his reputation and popularity grew to epic levels.

Playing in places like South Africa and Russia have ensured that the sky is the limit for this dog lover from Manchester.

Rabbithole are an anonymous group of singers, writers and producer’s. Connecting dark electronic soundscapes and hooks with melodious, soulful vocal harmonies. Exquisite dance-floor minded production, alt-pop structures and strong vocal harmonies have brought Rabbithole to the attention of many labels. We are over the moon to have them on the Love 
Dose imprint for LDR002 with three immense debut tracks and an assured dub remix.

Heading up the heart side is the reflective track ‘Summer Days’. A beautifully arranged alt-pop structure based around a simple groove and soulful vocal harmonies. Gaining massive support from DJ’s, label’s and artists across the board, this track is a sure fire uplifting body groove cut. 'Consume' is a modern techno track where neat minimal percussion meets the world of classic 80's synthesisers 
and vocal led melodies. Produced with dance-floor sensibilities, underwritten with alt-pop structures.

On the drop side of the vinyl is 'Waterside' & 'Waterside (Seelie's Dub Mix)'. 'Waterside', a groove based deep techno track with a hypnotic bass line. Deep blues vocals and a guitar melody lead the track into darker spaces of harmony. Themes of deep reverence and lyrics alluding to god, psychedelics and nature are sublimely twisted into the songs deep techno underbelly. Waterside (Seelie Dub) is a beautiful take on the original groove. Seelie reconstructs the track, replacing the vocals with subtle orchestrations.

"An industrial adventure back to the 1980s. Primal kick drums and nostalgic arpeggiators form the base of all tracks on the EP. Intricate, often distorted percussion is offset by ethereal pads and chords to make the Bail sound; spacial, heart pounding and dark but with glimpses of delicate beauty.

‘Luvliner’ starts with a heavenly, off kilter riff and blunt kick drum that quickly finds a sharp groove with the introduction of a relentless, robotic bass arp. The track is punctuated with a blown out, distorted snare that remains a constant through sections of raw 80s arptopia, delicate chords, and disorienting spoken word.

‘Astro Torres’ is an alternate, star-gazing interpretation of this 80s indebted sound. With the tempo turned all the way up, Linn kicks, reverse-reverbed snares and distorted hihats drive the track through overt angelic synth washes and chewed up vocal samples, while a restless Italo bassline underpins the wide-eyed, hyperactive and strangely romantic events above it.

The final track ‘Plume’ turns down the heat somewhat with focus shifting towards mood and percussion, with smoky, hissing synths drifting in and out of focus, disembodied voices and widescreen chords shining shards of light on a visceral low end. The EP is a perfect example of Bail’s skewed interpretation of beautiful, destructive techno - we can’t wait to hear more from this talented up and coming artist."

House of Lucid Dreams brings two hallucinogenic house cuts in his Love Dose debut. ‘Under Your Groove’ is a spell binding progressive, tribal, jazz track. Strings and a sax wash over a tight groove built around an 80’s electro bass line.

'MMA TG3’ is a left field house track with a guitar riff. Based around the groove of a tight analogue bass the track takes in jazz chords, haunting bells and acid arps on it’s progressive journey to nowhere.
