I discovered Frankie Knuckles through his music, one that was, gentle, lush with a subdued, understated power that rocked many a dancefloor.
I had the privilege to hear him once in the heyday of his legendary residency at Sound Factory Bar in New York. I was submerged, sonically and emotionally by the beauty of the music I heard that night. I remember very clearly saying to myself that this would be impossible to ever equal.
That was 20 years ago, and I never got to hear this magic combination again.

I got to meet Frankie a few times, and he was always like his music, gentle, humble,   yet naturally imposing

I've put together here some of my favorite music from him. So that his legacy can keep on inspiring other people.

Rest in peace, Frankie, may your music keep on moving people eternally

Solid Steel (2nd December) With the recent passing of The Loft founder David Mancuso, we wanted to pay tribute on Solid Steel to the man who led the way in club culture with his legendary New York parties. We invited Colleen 'Cosmo' Murphy, his close friend who starting going to The Loft parties in the early 90's and was one of the few people he would trust to play there. For this special 2 hour show, Colleen told us;

"In this show I pay tribute to my mentor, collaborator and close friend David Mancuso who recently passed to the next realm. He was one of the most significant people in my life and inspired so much of what I do.
In the programme I try to dispel the myth that David was the 'Godfather of Disco' - a moniker he didn’t like and one that is inaccurate, as in his long musical journeys he also channeled music that pushed far beyond four-to-the-floor. His esoteric musical choices were one of the several reasons I got so involved with The Loft parties as we spoke the same musical language. 
My life won’t be the same without David, but I feel blessed to have closely shared 25 years of my life with him. I only hope hat I can help carry on his musical and sonic legacy through the parties and with the larger Loft community as he wished. Love saves the day."
