Into the Roil

Male and female vocal harmonies swirl over a haunted landscape of dual percussion and shimmering guitar hooks, delivering songs of expansive reach and depth with moments of pure, explosive pop. Lovely Dark is a six-piece hailing from the likes of acclaimed local acts self-evident, Buildings, Spaghetti Western String Co, and Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo. Piloted by the songwriting of husband-and-wife Travis and Sonia Even, Into the Roil revisits the potent man-versus-nature mythos that dominated their debut album Territories, while laying bare more personal subject matter previously unexplored. Into the Roil captures the spirit of their bombastic live sound, having been recorded in a single weekend at Crazy Beast Studio (Andrew Bird, Dosh, Roma di Luna).
